If the SP A-10s are over here visiting LN during the dates of the Air Festival then maybe, just maybe we could have a couple of flypasts along the seafront. Food for thought?

I have tried to get a couple of F-15s to do a fly by or a show but they said they were busy :grr: But i guess its good of them to send a herky over again. Having said that though i will try again maybe we can get a helicopter they did say if they were not on ops nearer the date they might send something more. Last year they were nice in sending the herk, helicopter and the kc-135.

The line up is looking good, despite low attendance last year. :thumb:

Good to see the USAFE supporting the show again, any chance of an A-10 flypass?

Hi jamie your wish has been granted. I have managed to get 2x F-15s for a ten min slot on the friday  . The only bad thing at the moment is the weather forecast but hopefully it wont be too bad for this area lets hope so anyway. They are really good at LN sadly though no A-10s But a herk and 2 F-15s not bad for a seaside show dont forget the F-15s are friday only cheers and if you come please donate as its needed to keep the show going. Its looking like a good line up this year.

Good catch on the two F-15's. A ten minute slot sounds a bit more than just a flypast! :thumb:

So with two F15s and an MC-130, that means Lowestoft has got more USAF flying that RIAT.

Yes mustangs no show as the wind was too strong for them to take off apparently, understandable i guess. The raf we are not happy with no tornado but it flies at marham!! no bob mem flight well ok they sent the spitfire solo and also no seaking we were told though it was on a job. But at least we heard from the herk they were on ops and apologised but said they will do their best to come tomorrow. The display gaps were caused by canceled planes plus some a/c came in ahead of schedule meaning there was a bigger gap for those on scheduled time. Hopefully tomorrow will be better for weather and flying thanks for the kind comments jamie glad you enjoyed it. And the show ran fine from 3 it was just the earlier ones that got messed up.

I've already posted on the families day thread,

Blame the Reds  they were displaying and stopped the GR4 (yep only 1 gr4, others sounded sick at that time) getting airborne.

GR4 even wanted to try a down wind take off to get to Lowestoft.

By the time the Tornado could get airborne it had missed it's slot. The pilot sounded just as annoyed

Thanks for that gary. Must admit it is understandable when these things happen. Really hope he comes tomorrow and blasts the seafront.

Had a nice day at Lowestoft with the family today.

The aircraft displays were great, especially the Hunter, Blades & the Reds. It was a real shame about the missing aircraft and I know it was out of the organisers hands but it made it one of the slowest and gappiest shows I have ever seen at Lowestoft. Also, there did appear to be less people attending than in previous years which was very surprising, especially on the beach which is usually crammed down to the water's edge, maybe something to do with the weather?

I put my money in the bucket, & for the displays I saw today it was worth every penny!

Thanks for a lovely day Lowestoft & good luck for tomorrow :thumb:

Thanks tankbuster glad you enjoyed it sorry about the gaps. Must admit of all the years i have been involved today was a nightmare with regards to flight times and gaps. Hopefully tomorrow will be better. And with regards to the beach when we held it in july it was crammed with sun worshipers this year i think with it being late summer people did not turn up on the beach as much, as you say due to the weather. The main thing though the seafront was busy and that is the best we could hope for.

We certainly made the most of it & enjoyed the day, it was well worth the trip. No need to apologise for the gaps, thats airshows for you!

Judging by the state of my car seats, the kids have bought back half of Lowestoft beach with them :@ .
