I must say and without taking anything away from Martin Withers displays, that Kev Rumins displays generate more anticipation and excitement when he flies XH558... if i had to choose from the two dispalys it would be Kevs display i would like to see.

Saturdays display at Waddington was just amazing , awesome flying and brought back memorries of the old display days when she was put through her paces, Kev shows what XH558 can do and the crowds love it, the first wingover was great but the second was superb and very entertaining for the crowd.

By the way guys, does anyone know when she is due back at DSA? and what time is she due to touch down?

Shame DT stepped down from displaying her, who knows what the displays would be like if he was at the controls.
a top bloke at the helm of the Vulcan and Lancaster.

The real shame is that Joe l'Estrange isn't at the controls of XH558. Now that would be something to see!

Once back they'll probably stay based at Robin Hood for the rest of the season now wont they; with only smaller airshows and seaside events coming up?

Is it physically demanding to fly the display then? I can't really think of another reason why they should be different.

Think they'll be heading to Shoreham for a weekend at some point. Shoreham is 2 days and Eastbourne is the same weekend.

Runway is too short to land there though, and it's B/mth airshow not Eastbourne that weekend.

I suppose they might stay at Hurn, but given the tight-arse gits who run the airport charged them a weeks fees when they got stuck there last year, I wouldn't be surprised if they just fly down from Robin Hood instead.

Unless they can have a chat to Odiham and stop there. Depends how much extra cash you burn travelling back and forth to Donny from the south coast I suppose.

I don't see why Bournemouth was in the wrong there!

She's booked to fly at Southport and Windermere this weekend , they are intending to pull the two displays in together and have not decided which day to do it on yet .

Technically they're not, but a bit of goodwill might not have gone amiss due to the circumstances. Farnborough, to their credit waived fees when they got stuck there with a brake issue in 2008 but sadly MAG are out for every penny they can get.

There's many other reasons I dislike the airport owners but they're beyond the scope of this thread. :halo:

I assume 558 will be at Finningley on Monday? I have a meeting with the TVOC people so it would be nice to give the old girl a pat while I'm there

Do you have anymore info on the flight date and time of departure for this weekends display please.

I am planning a trip over to DSA to see her take off.

It's still at Wittering so I would imagine it'll fly from there to it's displays tomorrow.
