In case anyone was concerned.
We are happy to report that a permit to fly renewal application for XH558 has been approved for the next 12 months.

Permit was due to expire this week and has been secured in a timely manner.

She finally came into waddo to display at 16.15 after holding off for over 20 mins whilst blades displayed. They were still on ground when she called up initially ! Surely that wasted loads of fuel which the TVOC find hard to fund - seems such a waste of resources which are so hard to come by.

They used today's flight as a training flight for both a pilot and AEO so the time wouldn't have been wasted.

Going off topic for a minute, but what was the Thunderbirds mishap?

Edit: I read that a bit fell off of one, apparently.

Happend so quick when the tower called Thunderbirds, stop, stop, stop....In the end one of the Wing men looked over the aircraft in the air with gear down and pilot checks made so nothing was wrong, so the Thunderbird controller basicly told the tower they were to continue the display, The ground crew identified the object and nothing more was said....

ONe can but hope they'll get a rollocking off the MoD and the CAA for that then! If they were commanded to stop takeoff and didn't, isn't that a safety of flight issue?

Well then it's Yeovilton, so they'll stop there till Fairford, but after that it's Southport and Sunderland, so I'm wondering why they wont be going back to Robin Hood after Fairford?

Late yesterday afternoon? She displayed at Waddington at 2pm and landed afterwards.

I don't but I believe her arrival time is around lunch time and it wouldn't surprise if they do crew training on the way depending who is available.

Supposed to be raining down South tomorrow by about 10.00am so wouldn't be surprised if they get delayed or perhaps postponed.

Today's take-off delayed, although I don't know whether that's down to the weather or a technical problem at this point.

It's just started raining here though.

This just posted on the XH558 Twitter feed.

No 2 Engine CMFS being changed now. Testing later, so if all well, plan is to depart Friday morning to Yeovilton. Further update later today
