Couple of extra dates for you Shaun :thumb:

February 19th- Fleet Air Arm Museum, RNAS Yeovilton. Not strictly an IPMS show, but one of the bigger events of the year nonetheless. Always a great show, which should include an RC flying model display.

April 10th- RAFM Cosford- Organised by IPMS Shropshire I believe, another great show in a great museum.

I should be attending both of these (Yeovilton for definite) with IPMS Locate and Cement as usual

Coventry show was indeed nice. Managed to get round the show, take some reference photos of the aircraft and buy some plastic, all in about an hour! Tamiya Spitfire for £75 was a bargain and I got a cheapish Airfix Sea Vixen. Also bought the Alley Cat canopy replacement but by the time I got home it had melted - eugh!

I had a look at the Alley Cat Balliol and now I've seen it I don't fancy buying it. Quality was okay but not as good as their lovely Gannet, so I decided to give it a miss. The Xtrakit Hunter T7 isn't as bad as the lunatics on that well-known modelling site would have us believe - if nothing else it could be used as a decent conversion set for the Revell kit. The jet pipe is indeed a bit out of shape but it's nothing that couldn't be put right fairly easily.

Not a bad little show. The only down side was the display shed full of models and visitors in the heat. Some of these people ought to consider spending less on plastic and a little more on soap *cough* *gasp*
