Hi guys! Mark has asked me to post this :thumb:
There is a fault with pieces 89 and 90 with the kit (nose gear) the mould has not formed properly and therefore the wheel does not hold correct

Revell are aware of the fault and are rectfying it, and are offereing replacment pieces, if you email amortimer@revell.de.
Annette, is in Tring Uk and is very helpful, if you need more than one replacemt set you need to provide proof of purchase'
He is having issues with his work comp :thumb:
Cheers

My local called today to say my Hawk(s) would be in next week with luck. I mentioned to him about the kits from Argos - he'd been speaking to the rep about these and apparently this was a special boxing for Argos with the paints etc. which are not in the normal release kit.

Yup, will do. I'm getting quite excited now. Hoping Eduard will announce their etched sets soon - Hannants already have masks listed.

Picked up two kits today from my local - popped in by to collect some Eduard etched metal for my son's 1:48 HobbyBoss F-111C just as the guy was unpacking loads of "Orks". To confirm as suspected - the mainstream market version of the Hawk is different to that supplied to Argos, i.e. no pots of paint or tube of cement, however much to my disappointment the kit is still supplied in that horrendous red polystyrene and not grey as I had hoped. The quality of panel lines etc. is good.

Ordered Xtradecal sets X32031 (Stencelled data) & X32032 (Black - Tiger tail 4 FTS & RN 100 years commemorative). Now awaiting etched metal from Eduard plus Aeroclub metal u/c legs. I guess there will be resin sets as well.

N.B. I notice today on Hannants' website that Paragon are stopping production, so bang goes my hope of Hawk flaps from them unless of course there's the usual long long promise from Flightpath.

First impressions OK

Herewith a couple of grab-shots of the general release boxing - not much difference from the Argos version except lack of paint/cement.

I found this today - 1:32 turned aluminium pitot tube for the Revell kit.

Available on ebaY @ £4.99 + £1.90 postage. I've just bought 2 for my 'Orks. Need to get the Aeroclub u/c legs as well.

Also bought this decal sheet at the IPMS show at Perth from Alley Cat - cost £10.50

Hannants have several etched metal sets in the pipeline for the Hawk from Eduard - Full cockpit/exterior, zoom interior and seat harness sets, plus these are also available via Finnish brand Kuivalainen

Hannants - items available for 1:32 Hawk T.1

Ref: The above.

I received two sets of the Aeroclub u/c legs yesterday, and two Pitot probes all the way from Poland in just six days this afternoon. Both items are works of art and a superb enhancement to any Hawk model.

Roll on etched cockpit details and resin flaps and other parts. I really hope Eduard cover some canopy framing in their forthcoming etched set as this is very obvious on an open canopy on any Hawk.

Typed it into google and found this:

They are a little bit down the page and not yet released by the sounds of it.

Anything from DJ Parkins/Flightpath is good, but you'll wait for ever for it to be released. They announce their projected sets very early, but it can often take a couple of years for things to appear. They announced a 1:32 Hawk kit maybe six or seven years ago, the Hawk sets you link to are the result, their sets are very good, but don't hold your breath.

The Revell etched metal seems rather incomplete in comparison to that from Kuivalainen (also produced by Eduard) - it'll be interesting to see how the sets issued by Eduard themselves are similar and what extras if any they include.

More Hawk goodies:

White metal undercarriage legs from Scale Aircraft Conversions (available via A2Zee models) @ £12.50 per set. I'll stick with those from Aeroclub at £5.00 delivered.

Herewith two etched metal sets from Finnish retailer Kuivalainen. These cover cockpit details and seat belts. Both are available direct from Kuivalainen at €8 set plus €2.50 postage, these will also soon be available from Hannants.

You will note that the above etched sets are similar to those from Revell but with more detail and at a lower price. Similar sets will soon be available from Eduard.

N.B. AFAIK all three etched metal detail sets, i.e. Revell, Kuivalainen and Eduard are made by Eduard.

Yes, excellent detail. They are not without fault, but with a bit of common sense and use of references, the errors (mainly in the way the harnesses are positioned) can be rectified.

An external detail set will follow next month (July).

There will also be further additions to the cast resin sets shortly, to include: Matra rocket pods; a centreline gun pod and AIM-9 Sidewinder AAMs.
