Officialy confirmed no spotters day

Dear Spotter, The 45th International Sanicole Airshow will take place on Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 September. In recent years, this air show has always been combined with a spotters day in Kleine-Brogel, but this year that will not be possible. Because both we and Kleine-Brogel air base have received a lot of questions about this in recent weeks, we would like to inform you about this.

Due to the planned work at Kleine-Brogel air base, the main runway will be out of use for a longer period of time. A limited number of aircraft from the air show will operate from the parallel runway. Due to this specific situation, Kleine-Brogel air base cannot organize a qualitative spotters day in a safe manner.

Other participants in the air show will be forced to operate from other locations, including Beauvechain air base, where unfortunately no spotters event can be organized either. Since the regular spotter corners cannot handle a large crowd, they will be closed by the air bases in the run-up to and during the event in order not to jeopardize general safety.

We understand that you look forward to this spotter event every year, but as long as the planned works have not been completed, this is unfortunately not possible. We would like to thank you in advance for your understanding and hope to welcome you to the air show in September.

Over the last weeks, we have received numerous questions about when tickets are going on sale.
The Insider-only ticket sale with deep discounts up to -40% will take off at Thursday June 12th at 10.00h

On June 12th, you will receive an e-mail with a special link to purchase these tickets. Remember, as a Sanicole Airshow Insider, you will have access to discount tickets that are not available to the public.
To ensure the best airshow experience possible, the number of tickets is limited. Discount tickets will sell quickly, and they could sell out.

BAF Heritage Flight added. Spitfire and F-16

In 1946, just one year after the end of the Second World War, the Belgian air force was founded as an independent arm of the Belgian military. Join us at the 45th International Sanicole Airshow on 13 & 14 September 2025 as we pay honour to this event with a special act: The Belgian Air Force Heritage Flight.

Leading the Flight will be the pristine Spitfire MkXVI of Kris Van den Bergh, based at Brustem near Sint-Truiden. The historic Spitfire was the first fighter aircraft in service with the Belgian air force and also served with distinction in the hands of Belgian pilots flying with the British Royal Air Force during the Second World War. The gorgeous Spitfire flown by Kris is painted in the wartime colourscheme of 349 (F) squadron, which is based at Kleine-Brogel nowadays. 

Joining the Spitfire will be the current frontline fighter of the Belgian air force, the F-16 Fighting Falcon, already in Belgian service for 46 years. Soon, it will gradually be replaced by the state-of-the-art F-35 Lightning II, but it will continue to guard the airspace of Belgium and its neighbours for a while longer. In this way, the poignant heritage flight brings together the first fighter and the current day fighter of the Belgian air force, on the cusp of the move to the next generation of combat aircraft in Belgium, another giant leap in technology that will ensure the high effectiveness of Belgian crews for countless years to come.
