I see that Monorail is now a mandatory two stop race.

I guess you've got to try something different to bring a bit of excitement to the usually dull proceedings.

That was a huge success...

Good on Russell for taking the initiative, shame the race officials put paid to that(again),

Gasly deserves a race ban.

Wow! What an amazing race! Glad to see the brilliant 2 stop idea worked wonders!! no matter how many stops it won’t make a difference.

Option 1 - Bin it off the calendar

Option 2 - Smaller cars

It could have been worse, remember the rule was put in to avoid a repeat of last year which was effectively a zero stop race. Did anyone watch the Indy 500, now that was painful. From parade lap spins to an entire pit crew getting run over to throwing buckets of water on a fuel fire. I didn't realise they won't run in the wet, and by wet I mean moisture in the air, so numerous laps run under caution. Two notably average ex f1 driver in the running for the win in the form of Sato and Ericsson, both former winners of the event. It literally needs the Benny Hill music playing in the back ground.
Nice result for Lando, just 3 points in it now. What on earth was up with Merc?
Stiffer front wings kick in next weekend, I'm not expecting to see any significant change though.

I thought Monaco was farcical to be honest. I hope it won't be repeated in that form next year!!. I did watch the Indy 500, tho' TBH I sped through the recording. [Teresa is an Athletics fan, so the big Tele had that for 2 hours]. It is always dramatic tho' difficult to follow at times. Slightly unfortunate tale re Indy. Friend and I in Indianapolis, passing through for the night. Was going to go to the museum next morning. Having breakfast, Kitty [waitress] says 'hi you guys, are you here for the race this week-end??.] I thought this was a bit odd, 'cos it was early August. Then it dawned on me. The Nascar Brickyard 400!!. No chance of getting in, so my visit consisted of driving down the freeway next to it, seeing people in the stands, and hearing Nascar guys practising. Damn!!. :( . Indy cars race in the wet, but only on road and street circuits. ANY dampness in the air, and ovals are out., understandably.

They need to have some kind of rule change for Monaco that punishes/prevents drivers deliberately slowing down and backing off to make huge gaps for teammates to be able to pit safely.

Another year and another Monorail bore show. They could have fitted the highlights show in an ad break tbh.

Maybe next year they'll make the drivers stop at the station three times instead for even more jeopardy and drama.

I quite like the Indy car Method where Tyres are not in heat covers at all so takes a couple of laps for the cars to get up to full speed with such cold tyres,
Makes the Undercut/Overcut harder as you have the variable of driver outlap on cold tyres.

They also have this "push to Pass" , A button in the steering wheel that increases engine power Etc, You have a limited amount you can use per Race but you can deploy it anywhere around the track. You can change the amount of push to pass they can use and length of time it can be used in one use, I.e 0- 15 seconds in one burst , 200 seconds in the whole race,

What happened to Max; I actually bought a 'red-top' for the first time hoping to read about the last ten laps? I'd left the house to do my Sunday shopping before they shut- Max was leading, radio was speculating he was hoping for a red-flag moment during which he'd do his second tyre-change- nowt in the paper.

All cars had to do 2 pit stops, Max held out on the last stop in the hope of a red flag where he could of got a free pit stop basically . Didn't happen so he had to take his second stop on the last lap of the race, That dropped him down to 4th,

Excellent Mark.
Radio commentators were speculating whether Tsunoda could be under team orders to have a crash! No no- would have been too obvious.
