Air Force Armament Museum, Eglin

Post by Jonathan Warner » Thu Apr 10, 2025 8:18 pm

Day 2 of our road trip from Shreveport Luisiana to Lakeland, Florida, and after night stopping at Pensacola and dipping our feet in the Gulf of whatever its called this week at Pensacola beach, we took a drive about an hour up the road to the Air Force Armament museum.
its a great little free museum that's more aimed at the weapon types through the years, that said they have a really nice collection of aircraft including a long tailed SR-71 (one I didn't even know about until this visit!) they also have a B-52G and a nice collection of old fighter types including several century jets.

Good to see SR-71 17959 - from the one off test Big Tail program to include more defensive and recon systems in the extended movable (up and down for landing) tail.

Thanks for sharing another great selection of shots, with some rarities. Nice to see the Northrop Scorpion.

It is great to see F-105D 58-1155 still gracing the main hall, Jonathan.
