Has anyone got the British Embassy in Athen's email address. I used -defence.athens@fcdo.gov.uk last time but have just got a bounce back from it with an error.
I think this is them

HAFGS SPOKESMAN <spokesman.haf@gmail.com>

Or

defence.athens@fco.gov.uk
I retried 'defence.athens@fcdo.gov.uk' which I used last time and it worked (auto responce and then personal confirmation recieved) so must have just been a server glitch on Saturday.

spokesman.haf@gmail.com is the HAF contact for any queries.

Received another email yesterday with instructions for the day , pretty standard stuff

Dear all, please follow the instructions in the attached file in order to complete your participation process. Please, ignore the email address that is given in the attached file and send the payment receipt at the following email address: sec.117cw.haf@gmail.com.

Notice the payment receipt now goes to :

I had already sent my receipt to a different address so just resent it - Probably didn't need to but hey!

Unconfirmed because they probably came from the flightplan. There'll be plenty of people reading them off and confirming them in the next few weeks! Don't forget to check the FMS serials too please (located on the left hand engine intake).

As previously mentioned, most of the low flying occurs in the Vouraikos canyon, in the week before the exercise (24-28) then during the exercise itself (31/03-10/04)

Rumors out there that they will NOT use the well known low flying area next week, prior to the exercise... :( Still trying to find out the source of this though.

Not heard anything concrete so I'd just treat this as the rumour mill doing its thing as usual.

A lot of the so-called ‘information’ about them NOT flying down Vouraikos canyon doesn’t add up… heard multiple different ‘reasons’ and they don’t correlate. I’m hoping it’s all business as usual. I think some people are just rumour mongering.

I submitted the form for iniochos yesterday and have still not received any confirmation email or anything. Is this normal. Getting worried as deadline is tomorrow!

Looking at the weather forecast next week suggests cloud and rain in the Kalavryta area for most of the week, which might be a factor in the scrubbing of the canyon flying?

I highly doubt that would be the reason to avoid Vouraikos, especially as the rumour began a week in advance, the other day it said sunny and some clouds. Generally the forecast won’t scrub plans unless it’s a cat 5 hurricane  they’ll try fly it in whatever weather but will likely decide to avoid low flying on the day if the weather is pants.

Does anyone know if you are meant to receive any confirmation for the spotters day as I haven’t gotten anything. I have now tried emailing them and calling but to no success. I’m getting concerned as flights and everything is booked but I have no way of knowing if I’m getting onto the spotters day!

@edwardc248:

Depends what kind of confirmation..

After online registration; yes... with details of bank account
After sending money; no - you have to send a confirmation to HAF

As the money should be on the account by today - you're probably too late

There seems to be a directive from Greek HQ to avoid the Vouraikos low flying area next week. Source should be 338 Sqn at Andravida, reason is thought to be safety related (area became to popular/crowded).

Considering this was probably the last Iniochos for Andravida it's a massive shame that they've decided to axe the great low level spot instead of just waiting until next year

Don’t think it matters where the exercise is held whether or not the Vouraikos canyon is used or not, bit like saying the Mach loop isn’t being used because an exercise was moved from Marham to Coningsby. Future Iniochos will probably be held at Araxos until construction works at Andravida are complete.

You virtually drive right past Araxos on the way to Andravida but I wouldn't recommend going there without an invitation!
