RAF Waddington CW event

Post by Pbourke » Thu Mar 13, 2025 9:52 am

Despite the saudi jets not wanting to be at the event, it was still good in my eyes. Getting the protector as a replacement was very cool. 12/3/25 Image_64A5933-Enhanced-NR by Perry boruke, on Flickr

Any reason a Saudi jet couldn't be there?

There was a 6 sqn F-15SA on static for thousands to see up close at RIAT for three days last year, too sensitive for a few hundred weirdos?

The reason the staff at waddington gave was the saudis didn’t want people getting too close to their jets for “security reasons due to the systems”. We were allowed as close to the aircraft as we wanted.

I think you'll find the two Qataris on the flightline, with the Saudi in the centre of the static display.

Cheers. I'm sure the Saudis could have stipulated a barrier with safety distance to one F-15. The Turks would have interested me more anyway. I've not been able to get up to this CW unfortunately, but good to see any images from the event.

Nice set. You did well getting captures with no people milling about.

Great set of photos! tried hard to get a ticket for this with no luck like I assume many others did. Glad to see it was good though
