Avro heritage museum night shoot

Post by Jonathan Warner » Tue Feb 04, 2025 4:20 pm

when you have the opportunity to shoot a white Vulcan at night it doesn't take much tempting, add an Avro 707C into the mix and I was instantly sold on the idea!
here are a few from the event arranged by Threshold Aero

Very nice shot's of two unique examples. Well worth the trip to get these. Maybe, if they extract their digit there could be a Shackleton AEW-2 for you to shoot next time ?

from what I understand, they are looking to extend the museum to be able to accommodate the 707C (as its currently stored out of public view) and the Shackleton that's also stored

It's the same Shackleton that was displayed in Manchester. Yes, there are plans to increase the museum area, but got to raise money etc, in the current climate less of it sloshing about. From what I understand, they also have an Anson in store. But I visited the museum about eighteen months ago, very interesting too.

Avro Shackleton AEW Mk.2 WR960 ‘Dougal’ is the subject Shack'. Probably the best preserved example of an AEW-2 anywhere including Elvington & Pima! :thumb:

Here's a good article about its move from Manchester Air & Space Museum ...https://uk.corgi.co.uk/community/blog-a ... useum-move
