2025 Typhoon Display Pilot?

Post by F1inshot » Tue Jan 14, 2025 12:34 pm

Not seen any news on the new Typhoon display pilot for 2025, have I missed it or has it not been announced yet? I thought around this time of year the new pilot would start his work up or more accurately work down 5,000 to 500 feet.

The pilot has begun their training but has not been officially announced by the RAF yet.

New Display Pilot is Nathan Shawyer.

You will probably remember him as the last Tornado Pilot to pass out of training at Lossie,

Anyone have any guesses as to when the new pilot will begin his practice displays?

He did at least one last week over the coast, looked to be South of Donna Nook.

Fairly sure it's already been said it will be a standard jet this year.

First practice over Coningsby just completed - looks like 2025 callsign is Reheat 01, with a crowd rear arrival.

There are usually two slots a day, with one normally a back up.

The times in your notam above are 1345-1445 on the 25th, presumably due to night flying next week.

Just to confirm, there are two display practice slots scheduled for the coming week, one on Wednesday 26th and the other on Thursday 27th, between 13:45 and 14:45 both days (date/time format at sections B and C on the NOTAM is yymmddhhmm).
