I'm doing some research on Typhoon production and have a nerdy question that someone on this forum may be able to answer. Tranche 3 Typhoon ZK374 has the production line number 444 but the RAF allocation BS135, which is out of sequence. As 443 was BS124, one would have expected 444 to be BS125, but BS125 is 449. Obviously, foreign sales explain the gap, but not why 444 is put to the back of the queue behind 480/BS133. Also, the production number disappears after BS133, suggesting a change in Eurofighter production counting? It would be good to know production sequence numbers for BS136 to BS155 if anyone has them.

Re: Typhoon ZK374
This information is from Tarnished01:
ZK374 was 1st block 25 airframe. Various major units were stored in 5H before final assembly in 302H. As rear fuselage major units are interchangeable that is most likely why the so called production numbers (actually rear fuselage serial number in this case) are out of sequence. the missing 3 digit numbers are because they were not reported to UK Serials website.
There is probably no value in quoting these, as other major units have associated serial numbers (eg centre fuselage has a 4 digit number), which are not given.
It's not equivalent to a "planeset" number that used to be used in the Jaguar final assembly for example
