Many thanks for response (and to Mark also) - has got me looking into what the equipment might be, nothing found, as yet747woody wrote: ↑Tue Nov 19, 2024 11:34 amAs Mark said they are the two from 401 Filo, the test squadron. Only got to view them from the left side so hard to tell what they are. They look to be attached to the pylon, so something to do with weapon release?Petepilot wrote: ↑Tue Nov 19, 2024 10:47 amFlying shots amazing, and well caught judging by the flying footage I have seen on YouTube. Thanks for sharing!![]()
Q - in the last two pics, the aircraft is carrying something, perhaps on the right inner underwing pylon, that has two tubes projecting forward - any idea what this was?![]()

Re: 50 years of Turkish F-4s
Fabulous. Would anyone have a list of the serials of all the F-4Es present that day? Are the eight in the Elephant Walk their last remaining airworthy Phantoms?
Re: 50 years of Turkish F-4s
Just noticed that the grey jet in the low level also has the same configuration.Petepilot wrote: ↑Wed Nov 20, 2024 8:23 amMany thanks for response (and to Mark also) - has got me looking into what the equipment might be, nothing found, as yet747woody wrote: ↑Tue Nov 19, 2024 11:34 amAs Mark said they are the two from 401 Filo, the test squadron. 10 in the elephant walk plus four in a static display. The Scramble database shows 20 active.

Re: 50 years of Turkish F-4s
This one has it as well:

Re: 50 years of Turkish F-4s
The four regular jets that flew all had it and trawling through Flickr for Turkish F-4s throws up a few shots with that fitting in use. It's always under the right wing and seems to be where ACMI pods are installed.
Re: 50 years of Turkish F-4s
I saw an image of a tail fin on display at the event that looked to be the same as on 74-1023 at RIAT this year. Does anyone know if 74-1023 has been broken up?
Re: 50 years of Turkish F-4s
