Toulouse museums

Post by jpickers56 » Sat Oct 26, 2024 1:18 pm

Always enjoy a visit to a French museum so while on a city break to Toulouse last month I took the opportunity to visit both Aeroscopia and Ailes Anciennes at Blagnac, adjacent to the airport. Neither great for photo's as a bit crowded for space and tightly packed but nevertheless both well worth a visit and some rare types on display especially at the latter site. Firstly those exhibits at Areoscopia, this is mainly a museum exploring the history of Airbus concentrating on its airliner history but has a few ex military types on display. All those after the C160 Transall are a selection of exhibits at Ailes Anciennes.

Thank goodness they look after the Super Guppy better than they did at Bruntingthorpe.

Very interesting.
Some rarities in there.
The Voodoo looks in better condition than the French stuff.

I know it's civil, but I have vivid memories of the Air Toulouse Caravelles coming into Newcastle in 1992(?). Smokey!

Regards,
Ferrari
