Last race for Danny Ric, I like him and will miss him but sadly he's not that good anymore.

Echo your thoughts, Ivar. Most careers come to an end at some point, some sooner than others. He had a good go at it.

It is indeed a real shame, a few bad choices in the last few years have cost him dear, in the words of someone (I forget who!!) "he could have been a contender" Indy series maybe??
Good luck to him whatever route he takes..keep smiling :D

Did he though? I mean he left Red Bull as he was always going to be #2 to Max, that said perhaps #2 in a great car is better than #1 in a rubbish one. Renault looked to be going somewhere, 2019 wasn't great but in 2020 he finished 5th in the drivers with a couple of podiums. Similar thing with McLaren 2021 was decent with 8th in the drivers and gave them their first win since 2012, although Lando managed 6th, but he is a legend. Then he completely lost the plot in 2022, 37 points vs Lando's 122. That's what did it, imagine if McLaren hadn't given him the boot, look where he would be now. RB wasn't really a choice for 2023, it was that or nothing. He just seems to have lost something, assuming Lawson comes in it will be interesting to see how he does. Tsunoda isn't exactly smashing it but I think there's a link to Honda so he's staying.

I think leaving RB was the start of it, but it's all history now, let's go Lando, great job today, hopefully carry it through tomorrow 🤞

The FIA are really doing everything to suck the soul out of the sport (what little was left) thanks to Mohammed Ben Sulayem. Not impressed with drivers swearing (seriously!) And kindly handed out Max a fine for a swear word. Mental.

The FIA don't like swearing but let's not talk about where they race...

I sort of like BTCC these days, but find that the predominance of front wheeled cars very boring to watch. Got World Superbikes this week-end as well, so most tastes catered for.

Red Bull 'clearly' breaching the F1 regulations apparently, making use of a system to adjust front bib clearance from within the car, according to Piastri.

Evening
What’s a bib in this context?

Edited
Answered on Sky recording. Seems to me that RB smarter than the other teams who have access to the info in question.

F1 politics is far more interesting than cars wizzing round the circuits.

Ferrari were very good tonight - their race engineers/strategists often get pilloried but they got it right here - dark horses for the constuctors title?

Verstappen now has 1 hand and another 3 fingers on his 4th World Championship. I cant see a way back for Norris and it will be interesting to see how he handles it.

Yes it was a great result for Ferrari, Lando needs to up his game I feel and be more aggressive, especially towards Verstappen, he can still do it. The Lewis nightmare is almost over..

🇺🇦 🌻 🇺🇦

Lots of ‘if’s in this post.

Interpreting the rules by everyone from the stewards, team management down to the individual drivers has been demonstrated to be a movable feast.
Therefore, IF during the next few races Piastri were to drive in the style of Verstappen and accepted penalties, IF Norris could concentrate on keeping his nose clean and pile up more points than his rivals.
Ferrari could then make an unhindered effort for the Constructors’ money.

I think it is all still to play for, however the 'stewards' need to be consistent with penalties handed out, this last race proves they are anything but!!

On the fence with the Lando v Max overtake,
Max was clearly ahead at the Apex so by that rule he should keep the place,

But ,Was Max only ahead at the Apex because he kept the car straight with no intention of taking the corner on line, He kind just went strait at the Apex until he was out of track himself.

Tough one really.

That said , I do find Norris too reserved sometimes, I mean that first bend at the start of the race was poor on his behalf, If He had shut the door as he should off none of the above would have mattered

Agree there, but I will say one thing - Max has gotten away with so much, and there should well have been penalties thrown his way during that race. If you can't be allowed to overtake off the track - because you were forced off - Can you be allowed to overtake on track if you push someone off the track? :S

Thats why the rule book does not suit that particular track. Its also designed for NASCAR who can and will make overtakes and undertakes on and off the track, particularly at the corners where everyone was getting the penalties. The rule book should be ammended just for this track, what other tracks can you push your oponent off the track and they get the penalty?
