UBC125XLT scanner found

Post by Skymaster » Thu Aug 08, 2024 5:01 pm

Whilst walking the A1065 to try and see the F22s at the 'heath yesterday, I came across the above scanner on the grass verge.

There is some scuffing damage, and the belt clip has taken a bit of a hit at some point. Probably a fairly recent loss, as the battery contacts have no corrosion. The battery cover is missing.

I've just cleaned out a bit of mud, and inserted some batteries, and although the screen works and appears to scan, there's no sound. Not even with headphones.

With Scan125, I can see the frequencies that have been input, which include some unusual ones. So if you think this is yours and can identify it, please drop me a pm.

Update...

The scanner does work. :thumb:
Beep was turned off. Testing with a more local frequency also helps. :halo:

Tough little beggar. A shame that the battery cover is missing.

Something like that has crossed my mind... in the event that nobody claims it of course.

Bookmarked, thanks.

At £18.95 delivered, a tad expensive for a bit of plastic, though.

Still £14.44 delivered.

Only $5.99 in the US. No postage outside US and Canada, though. :(

Should be handed in to the local police as found property.

Could it have bounced after falling from a moving car's roof. Spotter could have had it on top of his static car and drove off?

That was my first thought. Quite possible, considering the location and scuff damage.
