One exercise will be based in Australia and the other Hawaii. To get to Australia the RAF is taking the opportunity to work with the Armée de l'Air et de l'Espace to conduct a joint activity to get both nation’s aircraft to Australia.

They landed at Istres Air Base, France. I guess they will be dragged by a French A330MRTT

Per ADSB two French A400s and three A330s up from Istres this morning, all heading SE together with (some of) the Typhoons.

RAF A330 ZZ330 RRR9110 also arrived at Istres on July 4th so the trail out to Aus for Pitch Black will be conducted jointly with FAF and RAF A330s tanking.

I respectfully disagree with the above post, Darwin in Australia is the place to be for the military aircraft enthusiast. Pitch black 24 starts next week and the aircraft are arriving, I do not have links to any sites but I would suggest those who have twitter, search #pitchblack24 and enjoy the photos

Fast jet wise pitch black, Asw wise Rimpac 2 Peruvian sh3 at Rimpac ,I think a Mexican navy helicopter. Pitch black. Singapore Indonesian Indian Philippines Korean Japanese fastjets all at one base, air show in middle of exercise. Favourite sightings Peruvian SH3 and Papua New Guinea nomad type thing?
