I haven't received my FRIAT passes yet. I just wanted to see if anyone else was still waiting and it's me being impatient or should I chase it?
I haven’t either. Still plenty of time!

Had mine a few weeks ago too, I had to email the team about the car park ticket and this has been emailed to me for the Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

I'd be getting in touch sooner rather than later 👍

Thanks for the replies. I'll give it another week or so and I'll chase it up if they haven't arrived.

Be interesting to see what happens if people still need shuttles bus tickets. With it being sold out.
Interestingly I had an email regarding the shuttle bus, I asked for a Saturday bus ticket and was sent one! This was last week. Very grateful!

As a first time FRIAT ticket holder, I am just wondering as the RIAT website is not clear, on Wednesday, do we go in the enclosure or is it a free for all?

Regards

Andrew

Quite clear under the FAQ section, it isn't open.

The communication from FRIAT is getting worse every year. What's the point in the member area now.

Be nice to know about the entrance. Well, there won't be clearly.

They should just come out and say there isnt going to be one. The bag search coming before the ticket scan and this new holding area. I just hope they've increased the number of lanes

The worrying thing is this holding area. Why they specifically mention food and toilets. If its just a ticket scan. There should be no need

Apologies, I hadn't looked in the FAQ, I was confused under the ticket info where it said and I quote:

WEDNESDAY 17 JULY PARK & VIEW ENTRY
ALLOCATED GRANDSTAND SEAT IN THE ENCLOSURE

But having read the FAQ thanks to your post, it's now clear. 😊

No worries - apologies if it came across direct but thought it would make more sense :)

Precisely. Yes, not keen on that. A ploy to make more money off punters? Still be lugging in my camera bag. Interesting to see what pans out. Hopefully at the next forum someone makes a point of no communication, not even a heads up on the changes with the passes.

I still think it’s a great package, just flawed. The benefits once inside are second to none IMO.

That's true, but I'm concerned about getting in to enjoy them. As a 'Friend' of the airshow, I kind of expect some perks and the risk of not getting to my seat until 11am is a worry. Without things like our dedicated entrance, FRIAT is becoming just another stand/enclosure. Maybe they should rename the ticket and drop the word friend and call it the 6 day Tattoo ticket (with most central stand).

I'd give up the free programme, the gift and the free movements sheets for the FRIAT entry gate. And I really can't get my head around the vague kind of reason they gave for not having it before they completely lost the balls to actually tell us that they were removing a notable part of the thing that many of us paid up for immediately after the last show.

I too had cause to email FRIAT a few days ago and asked about dedicated entry. As yet no reply.

Car parking pass though - is one required this year?

The FRIAT lane was only introduced around 2013 from memory. Or that’s when I remember it. Getting old though. Annoying its or was only Blue too. Last year, nearly a third of the people who got on the Swindon shuttle bus I was on, had FRIAT passes. So would have been nice to have one at Yellow.

The Shuttle bus effectively goes passed blue to get to yellow I heard someone ask to be let off and was told no

In the past I have used a FRIAT fast track at both red and green gates, but maybe once only at each.
Certainly agree that the lack of information is annoying but I guess they have not had a final decision from the police as it’s them who have identified the queue system as an issue. Personally I think a long thin line is less dangerous than a large mass of people but hey ho.

Had a reply off Wendy to another enquiry but not the entrance. Wonder if it's the police dragging their heels.

It doesn't even create that much extra legwork...there's a couple of scanner lanes for it and just the ability to walk alongside the queue till you get there.

That queue which by 6.30 in the morning is snaking back for hundreds of yards waiting for a 7.30opening; that queue has hardly diminished by 8. The fast track lets you get out of the rain pdq and into the shelter of the marquee.
