I think the mystery has been solved.

At two minutes past midnight on June 7th someone accidentally switched on the avionics. We had one single ping through the network from AE4AE6 09-0015.
On its own that doesn't pin things down however the PP network member is located very near to Fairford. Near enough in fact to ping aircraft on the ground.
AE4AE6 has been variously reported as 09-0015 and 09-0016 , but the avionics /FMS report it as "0015"

Thanks for the update, this is great news. Out of interest, did you get the serial as well as the hex address from the ping? I thought ADS-B just used the hex code as the ID..

The ping came up as AE4AE6 09-0015.
Of course that doesn't mean its 100% 09-0015 because thats the tie up to AE4AE6 , however its as near as we will get for now.

Yep, you got it. RCH776 1316 ATD
No ID on the serial but was worked out in another thread to be 015 or 016
