Royal International Air Tattoo 2024 General Discussion Thread
Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2024 General Discussion Thread
Taken from the RIAT Facebook Page
For our second aircraft announcement of the week, we are unveiling some exciting assets from the Royal Norwegian and Royal Moroccan Air Forces.
Starting with the Norwegians, they are providing their Yellow Sparrows display team, which will be making their very first trip to RAF Fairford next month, with their colourful MFI-15 aircraft.
Joining the six-ship from Norway are a pair of F-35A Lightning II jets, an AW101 SAR Queen helicopter and a C-130J Hercules.
Meanwhile from Morocco, participating at the Air Tattoo for the first time in almost 30 years, are two of their F-16 Fighting Falcons that will be parked on our ‘Viper Line’ static display as we celebrate 50-years of the F-16.
A number of civilian aircraft have also been added this week, including a Skyhawk, Dakota and some electric powered aircraft!

I'm really sorry to hear of your plight mate, it's the last thing you need, I feel your pain. I know it's scant consolation for you presently, but you're not alone. Similar misfortune has likely befell many on this forum, I've walked that road myself. Get well soon mate, there's always tomorrow.BMrider wrote: ↑Wed Jun 05, 2024 6:39 ami have had a heart attack and stroke i have a full house of riat tickets, kempsford camping, tues to monday with ehu, park view wed, thurs,General Admission Friday Adult Ticket,General Admission Saturday Adult Ticket/ sat cotswold club upgraded Park & View Monday Adult Ticket takes while to type replys please DM me for info Mark, ....don't if they can be sold be nice to get some outlay back, make an offer no sunday admission was going to watch from kempsford

Entry information is up on the new show hub.
Entry into this year's showground is completed in two phases. Firstly, we have a 100% bag check procedure, so please bear this in mind when deciding what you need to bring with you.
When you arrive at RAF Fairford there will be two stages for you to complete, the first stage is a bag search. If you do not have a bag, you will be able to use one of our fast lanes to progress, meanwhile it is also worth noting that if you use a wheelchair or scooter, you can gain access to the site from any of the customer entry points.
Once you have completed this initial phase, you will enter an area with catering, merchandise and toilet facilities before then having your ticket scanned. Once you have passed this area, you are safe to make your way onto the showground.

The official name of the F-16 is the Fighting Falcon. I like this name better than the Viper. Just my opinion.

Interesting - you get your bags searched and then tickets checked?! Surely better the other way around...airtyphoon wrote: ↑Thu Jun 06, 2024 7:38 pmEntry information is up on the new show hub.

It would be great if the Jordanians could include a couple of their 'Fighting Falcons' as well as their usual 'Falcons' then ?

Why not? I'm sure that the suicide bomber at the Ariana Grande concert in Manchester wouldn't have had a ticket.James Cutting wrote: ↑Fri Jun 07, 2024 7:44 amInteresting - you get your bags searched and then tickets checked?! Yeah, I suppose that is the other way of looking at it.
Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2024 General Discussion Thread
Air Shows in the states also make you go through metal detectors and bag searches. They also make you show your ID because most of the air shows are on military bases, so security is tight. These are done by military security police.

Just realised that every NATO nation with their own flying assets, if Bulgaria confirms will be present at RIAT this year great support for the NATO anniversary theme.
