Hi all,
I see USAF mission numbers in both the Coronet and the RCH sections of the board. I was curious if the format of the mission numbers is a known quantity, or if there is a basic hobby cheat sheet type thing to decode them. I can see information like Coronet number, and Julian date, etc within the mission numbers, but the nerd within me wants to know what the rest of it means if it is known. I do have some very old information in my files that I would be happy to provide, but I don't want to re-invent a list that maybe common knowledge here at FC.
Also is there a good guide to the decode of the messages that are quoted in the RCH section of the board.
Thanks in advance to all that know the answer.
Chris

USAF Mission Numbers & SATCOM Messages
No fighting in the war room!
Re: USAF Mission Numbers & SATCOM Messages
Hi Chris,
I don't think there is a cheat sheet as such but there was a recent discussion in one of the threads in the RCH section (see here - viewtopic.php?f=113&t=243221). I presume as you have already seen RCH threads you have access, I cant remember if the 5 post rule applies to those sections or not.
That should help give some clarity. If there is anything else I'm sure that there are a few people on here (myself included) that are happy to help out!
All the best,
Eagle
