Interesting they chose what appears to be one of the most infrequently seen single-seat T1 jets, hope it's not a hangar queen.
Apart from the Black painted thing not many do appear often.. After march next year, the only place anyone gets to see one will be Mount Pleasant. Or a fleeting glimpse of them being delivered to RTP or likely on truck. Cosford for 1 SoTT anyone??

Is the sharp pointy bit at the front being painted at a later date?

Edit: just noted 'Blackjack' had the base grey radome, so I'm guessing is a function of the radar suite.

Just seen this on LinkedIn of all places.

All I can say is hell yeah! I never saw the previous retro camo scheme, so hopefully I can tick this one off. Will look good in LFA7 too!

Yes, a bit like painting your car headlights black.

Must be something wrong with me, as I don’t like it🫤. It just doesn’t look right, the Invasion stripes don’t suit the shape of the current Typhoon, with the fuselage ones looking just plain daft🤷‍♂️

This scheme is very good & a quantum leap from the normal half-arsed sticker jobs occasionally trotted-out of late.....But I'm gonna need more of a hint here! Why on Earth has this jet been nicknamed 'Moggy'?

A feline of dubious cross breeding, a slang corruption of the name Maggie, a pet name for Morris Motor Company cars? Wtf has any of this got to do with a D-Day camouflage paint scheme on a modern Typhoon jet in the WWII markings of a Hawker Typhoon 1B of 257 Sqn flown by Flt Sgt Denzel Jenkins :'(
Am I missing something obvious here? :S

Maybe because the markings are FMG with the roundel between the M and G so looks like MOG - might be totally wrong?

Wow! That obvious. Sounds entirely reasonable now you've said it! Thanks Nighthawke. :thumb:

Good to see some enthusiasm for the scheme, instead of the common, classic and tired "underwhelmed" comments.

That may in some way owe to them producing a scheme that isn't the common, tired and rather underwhelming effort (or just a sticker).

In a similar manner the Canadian Lancaster VR-A is nicknamed VERA and the previous Typhoon camo scheme special GN-A was nicknamed GINA.

The new scheme looks pretty good to me. The second one to show an RAF combat scheme from WW2, so someone in the RAF has a sense of heritage.
Someone on PPRUNe suggested that the radome is actually made in that colour, so painting is not possible as it would mess up the radar system.

At one time, all RAF combat jets were grey/green like this, although on we who are over 50 would remember this! Much more interesting than overall bland grey.

With all things everyone will have an opinion, which might be different to yours.

I bet it will not be seen in German airshows. The WW2 Typhoons caused havoc in Normandy it destroyed the German army when use they cab rank tactics .Fac called waves of Typhoons to attack the German army as they retreated at Falaise .
That's why the GAF call there aircraft EF2000

You might find the germans will love it. When the last camo jet was done some germans was visiting the base for work and they saw ZK349 and really liked it. At the end of the day it's part of history now. I'm sure if they painted one like an ME109 we would love it

With the RAF participation at overseas airshows being as strong as it is, I doubt that's going to be anywhere near a problem!
Kudos for the EF2000 Knowledge, something which doesn't get recognised enough here.
