Re: Exercise Iniochos 2024
No confirmation yet for the 17th but I do know the money has been deposited by them.
Re: Exercise Iniochos 2024
What are you Guys experiences with spotting from the Chapel near Megara? Is it worth going up the Hill?

Re: Exercise Iniochos 2024
I have been up there
Read off a couple of UH-1 and a NH-90 on the left hand ramp but I found the trees blocked the view of the Chinook ramp
It offers superb views out over the coast and out to sea and is worth a visit purely from a tourist angle. However it is one way up and down so it is a bit of a rat trap and needless to say i didn't spend much time up there.

Re: Exercise Iniochos 2024
Extreme caution needs to be taken, the Hellenic Authorities are well aware of the influx of ‘spotters’, attending the two upcoming spotter days at Andravida and security at other bases will be increased accordingly. One thing going up to the chapel as a ‘tourist’, but being caught up there with a camera/telephoto lens, memory card full of military a/c shots or a spotting scope, is going to end badly.
Re: Exercise Iniochos 2024
Quick question from an Adravida newbie to those who have been before - do the HAF sell any food, drink or merchandise (coins, patches etc) on the day and if so, do they take cash or card? Thanks.
Looking forward to bumping into some of you out there next week!

Yes
They bus you to one side of the runway to take photos and then around noon they bus you to the other side for the afternoon launch and from memory there is a hangar type where they sold some decent food - salads etc - think I just handed over euros

Re: Exercise Iniochos 2024
Thanks Mike.
Re: Exercise Iniochos 2024
Okay, will take care around the places as usual. Is the Greek participation flying from Andravida as well or do they operate from their own airbases?
Re: Exercise Iniochos 2024
Most participants operate from Andravida. Some assets like the AEW use the homebase Elefsis
Re: Exercise Iniochos 2024
Looks like the Saudis, Romanians and French are already going low level.

Re: Exercise Iniochos 2024
Hello has anyone received email for where to meet location ? At the base for 1st and 2nd week ?
Re: Exercise Iniochos 2024
No, not yet. I’m going to the spotters day on the 10th.
Re: Exercise Iniochos 2024
I too am going to the spotters day on the 10th and have received no joining instructions. I have pinged them an email this morning, but no reply yet.
The report on last year's Threshold Aero visit to the spotters day says they met at the main gate at 8am, and were bussed to the far side around 08:45 after registering etc. In the absence of any other info from them, I plan to be at the main gate at 8am. Looking at Google Earth, there appears to be only the one gate, left off the E55 (if heading south from eg Patras) at a set of traffic lights. The road signs approaching the lights are marked "Aerodome" (in Greek) and "Airport" in English!

Re: Exercise Iniochos 2024
That’s indeed the entrance used for spotterdays. Just park the car along the straight road along the fence.
Re: Exercise Iniochos 2024
Thanks for the confirmation.

Re: Exercise Iniochos 2024
I can see why people go for the low level prior to the Iniochos spotter's days!
