Russia we certainly are not, but our judicial system is far from perfect. Though not sure anything he's been accused of is actually a police matter?

My opinion of the individual in question has not been soured anymore by the allegations, legally true or not. If someone else joins me in that opinion, however big a (forum rules prevent me from applying the correct term here) they may be, its irrelevant. An opportunity to get rid of at least one of them is surely something to look forward to for someone of that opinion though, no?

And yes, potentially some good racing from them. Just a shame it won't be for the championships or wins.

Make sure it's just your hat and stay away from toilets on aeroplanes or all hell will break loose.

I always give credit to the in form / dominant team even if it’s not my personal favourite team
Even Mercedes time I still would have said the same .
Be good to see Mr Lando Norris get a race win this year it must be soon (I don’t count sprint race wins by the way :) )
Speaking of which Verstappen to Mercedes to replace Sir Lewis? …

Okay, awake now:

The President of the FIA, Mohammed Ben Sulayem is under investigation for alleged attempt to interfere over a race result.

A whistleblower has told the FIA that Ben Sulayem allegedly intervened to overturn a penalty given to Aston Martin's Fernando Alonso at the 2023 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.

The allegation made by the whistleblower is that Ben Sulayem called the FIA's vice-president for sport for the Middle East and North Africa region, who was in Saudi Arabia for the race in an official capacity - and made it clear he thought Alonso's penalty should be revoked.

Ben Sulayem has yet to comment on this.

What control does the 'FIA's vice-president for sport for the Middle East and North Africa region' have over a race result, he doesn't sound very important?

I believe I read he was there in a 'official capacity', possibly one of the stewards(?).

And he's also being investigated for trying to get the Las Vegas GP stopped last year.
A bit soap opera-y isn't it. Murder next?

Sadly you are right James, and it looks like this 'Horner' thing is going to run a little longer too, lets hope they can all stick to the racing, such as it is!!
If you can keep your head whilst all around are losing theirs, you have probably completely misread the situation!!

No prizes for guessing who was fastest in FP1 in Saudi. Apparently woman who accused Horner has now been suspended by RB. :S

Surely they should both be suspended in such a case?

Em Yuki Tsunoda

Can't we go at least 1 day without news about dirty little Horner and his sex texts?

I've never liked the man cannot stand him to be honest, I think he is an arrrogant
little prat who thinks he is better than everyone else, It cannot be easy for Geri having to read all this in the news every single day.

Nope, in the UK at least companies try to avoid suspension as much as possible. Historically they would suspend on the basis that you're on full pay etc. and no decision has been made. trouble is being suspended has a lasting effect, people judge even if you're innocent. Had there have been solid evidence that CH had sent those messages then CH would have been suspended on the basis that they had a duty of care to the other party so removed him from the situation. I'm assuming they didn't. Pure speculation but for them now to suspend the other party possibly evidence has come to light that she leaked the messages or the messages were fabricated? In that event, assuming they are very confident of the evidence they have, a suspension may be an option to protect CH. It's amazing on the socials how many people get sucked into this and believe a few headlines in the media. So many calling for his head to roll. I'd love to see CH go, can't stand him but as I said before this would be a hell of a thing for RB to sweep under the carpet so I'm inclined to think he's innocent, just my personal view.

Alonso's FP2 time was on softs while the rest were doing long runs so let's not get too excited, unfortunately.

Thanks for this, it's good to hear a sensible view and not a knee jerk reaction, I guess time will tell how it pans out.
Cheers

Q1 just about to start. Sainz has had surgery for appendicitis and is according to Fred Vasseur doing well
