How did the Woke word get into this thread?

Woke is an adjective derived from African-American Vernacular English meaning "alert to racial prejudice and discrimination". Beginning in the 2010s, it came to encompass a broader awareness of social inequalities such as racial injustice, sexism, and denial of LGBT rights.

Just curious, I don’t want to fallout with anyone on FC
Thanks for the education, woke sounds like a good thing to be and a nice type of person. Much better than a Daily Mail reader!!

Apologies that we are going a bit off topic.

According to Google when asked “do nuclear weapons give off radiation?”

Moderately. They have an instrumentally detectable radiation because both weapon uranium and weapons-grade plutonium are radioactive. However they emit alpha particles which are relatively easy to stop.

Electricity generating power stations probably leak some radiation in the outflow of the cooling water too. What about the de-commissioned nuclear submarines ? They could also be a source of radiation.

Anyway, the viewing area should still be relatively safe. I’ll park there and play a Herman’s Hermits track to be on the safe side.

You may find that the viewing area is not an option anymore if protestors arrive. Seems an obvious place for them to set up camp, and maybe that's where the USAF/MoD will tolerate them, or if not, simply shut down the area.
