I think it’s all but been confirmed now
Sky sports news is having it as a rolling headline .
Be interesting to see how he gets on.
Personally I think it would be brilliant to see him win a world championship in a different car
Similar to when Michael Schumacher went from Benetton (which was already winning races and world championships ) to join Ferrari to revive the team so maybe history is possibly repeating????…
I can recall people saying he was mad to join the then new ( in modern era ) Mercedes team in 2013 and then look what happened since…in my eyes now one of the greatest drivers in F1 history.
So my point is why not I think he will do great 😊.

I wonder if it was plan A,B,C,D or E that convinced Hamilton joining Ferrari would be a good idea?

"Question...we are checking"

In all seriousness he has nothing to lose. Dreamed of driving for them, has won it all, Ferrari announced it's a multi-year contract. So will be sticking around for a few more years, hopefully can help build up Ferrari.

I do feel for Sainz so much though. What a driver he was last year.

Have they actually said it will be Sainz moving on? :P

No, but its more or less a done deal he's going to Audi. Plus as Sauber have been quoted as saying Bottas and Zhou won't be required after 2024...

I'd say Albon to Mercedes alongside George next year. Sainz to Sauber/Audi.

AFAIK, Albon is still attached to the energy drinks company, which would most likely prevent him going to Mercedes.

Maybe a Bottas return? Although he's not exactly shone at Alfa.
Alonso? Will bring results but will most likely also bring chaos.
Schumacher is unlikely according to team sources.

Might just be a better chance at another WC. Time will tell. For sure he won't just be keeping the seat warm.. He will drive like hell for it.

Wow, never thought this would happen in a million years. I'm quite excited for it. I don't expect they will give him a championship winning car, but I'm not sure Merc will either. Apart from a brief spell in '99 when Irvine was #1 following Schuey's leg issue I've never had reason to cheer a Ferrari. I assume '25 is to gel with the team and he's hoping they get in right with the '26 regs. I doubt they will but hopefully they will give him something that might win a race or two. I assume Sainz is of to Sauber/Audi in '25 then? It will be interesting to see him play out the final years of his career there rather than just fizzling out in a Merc. I wonder who will replace him? Doesn't Albon have links to Totto? I'd like to think Lando but I think he's comitted to McLaren.

No, it was a requirement that links to RB were broken when he went to a Mercedes engined car. My mate who's a Seb fan and gets everything right says Seb to Merc, I've told him he's an idiot.

Which one, I'd speculate that Michael would do a better job than Mick :)

That wasn't the case. He was still under the energy drinks company's wing for at least the initial part of his time at Williams. Further research has mentioned he left the payroll in 2022, however I'm sure he was doing events with them last year. Maybe it was 2022

I did think Vettel returning might be an option, and he would fit the Mercedes way better than Alonso at least. Unlikely though, plus he hasn't been the best performing driver recently..

Should we really be making amusing remarks about Michael Schumacher? Poor taste methinks.
