Much as I'm saddened by this news from an aviation point of view. this is a tragedy for the Moray area more than anything else - the loss of jobs, income to the community and the impact on property values far outweighs any other concerns in my opinion. With luck the Army will move in in due course, but there will still be a considerable medium term impact regardless.

Opened again the following Year when the ConDem lot are kicked out and Labour are re-elected and Cameron etc are made to suffer for what they've done. Mind you Scotland may be Independant by then - well we can but hope.

Dream on ... ... ... none of those will happen, even Alec Salmond stated this week that he doesn't expect to see Scottish independence in his lifetime.

I can now put Clegg onto the list with Cameron, Osbourne, Fox etc as the most untrustworthy people in the UK what did the man think he was doing in Moray Yesterday? He did nothing to ease the fears of the Lossie campaigners, nothing. He's worse than useless.

Certainly not - the list is still topped by Messrs Bliar and Brown - didn't you see Bliar on the 6 o'clock news tonight doing what he does best at the Iraq enquiry.

One small question - Would it not be a good idea to preserve the Gate Guard? Keep it where it is or at least somewhere in that area where the Public can see it as a lasting tribute to the Base - it's only a suggestion. After all Elgin have a Buccaneer at a Service Station.
