HOWLER 31-32 mission 7/11/23
Re: HOWLER 31-32 mission 7/11/23
IIRC 'Howler 31' today is the same jet (86-103) that allegedly had 'Gear retraction issues' departing Fairford as 'Howler 62' last Saturday evening?

Re: HOWLER 31-32 mission 7/11/23
Whoops! Somehow picked up a bit of bad info' on serials of the departing jets?

Re: HOWLER 31-32 mission 7/11/23
Was Howler 32 ... 86-0119
Re: HOWLER 31-32 mission 7/11/23
Are they leaving for home today?
If you can keep your head whilst all around are losing theirs, you have probably completely misread the situation!!
Re: HOWLER 31-32 mission 7/11/23
No, the other Howler was 86-0103. Having reviewed mine and another persons video footage, 103 taxied and departed 1st as Howler 31 closely followed by 124, Howler 32. While with the tanker a c/s swap took place and 124 became 31. This may have been because it was the most serviceable jet. Also, changing the c/s to 31 would mean no ATC or Diplomatic Clearance Flight Plan complications after UK airspace. 103, as Howler 32, arrived back at Fairford at 0046 on the 8th and parked on spot 53. where I saw maintenance being carried out on its tail during the afternoon. The absent 124 returned as Howler 31, landing at 1815 following a landing gear IFE. During this emergency it did an East - West flyby in front of the Control Tower at a requested 200 ft AGL - too bad it wasn't in daylight.
