Hopefully better tomorrow! Not sure the softs will make many appearances..

Re: Formula 1 2023
Usual chaos, Sainz DNS due to a fuel issue. Tyres limited to 18 lap stints due to Pirelli being unable to confirm they won't fail. Plus there's more to that limit taking into account that some sets of tyres have already been used. One driver sits on the newest tyres of anyone, guess who that is....

Re: Formula 1 2023
Doesn't look great does it. Think we'll get some good racing but I think there's a few that even if they move up the field will run out of tyre life later in their stints. Could see a few drop out, maybe a lower team get a decent result. They have the best tyre options

Re: Formula 1 2023
Lewis is on softs and needed to get past Russell - they must have been pre-briefed so Russell needs to be more aware?
Anti Maxers will probably say it was Max's fault as I guess Russell had nowhere to go

Simply put he lunged from out back around the side and pinched him, it was a silly move so early on IMO

Lewis on X via the BBC page
Lewis Hamilton on X (formally known as Twitter): "I’ve watched the replay and it was 100% my fault and I take full responsibility. Apologies to my team and to George."
What a great man.

Re: Formula 1 2023
Double podium for McLaren
They were nowhere in the first half of the season and have made incredible progress so congratulations to the folk back at the factory. Piastri obviously looks the real deal.
Max seemed a bit restrained in his interview considering he won the race and is a triple world champion?

Alternatively, he could have given more space, kept the lead and avoided an unnecessary collision. I've said that before, wonder who that was about....James Cutting wrote: ↑Sun Oct 08, 2023 5:19 pmSimply put he lunged from out back around the side and pinched him, it was a silly move so early on IMO
Not that it would have mattered anyway, the softs were clearly an abysmal tyre this weekend. He'd have had boy wonder for maybe that lap, then found himself dropping down the order like he had no tyres at all.
So, multiple drivers taken ill, a tyre controversy that could have been sorted two years ago, and the track limits BS making an unhealthy return, not the best weekend.
It is good to see McLaren back at the front, even if things should have been slightly different had a few drivers taken a bit more care!

They said earlier at in the season they'd made a mistake in concept and were switching to the current one, so weren't devolving the previous design. On current pace, they arguably have cost fans a closer fight at the front.

Having just lost 3-4kg in sweat I'd struggle to raise a smile at predibly dull questions too!

Re: Formula 1 2023
Who give who more space? Yes the softs was a poor call but I don't understand why if the kerbs were unsafe or destroying tyres could they not have been changed or removed (guess not a quick thing)seven wrote: ↑Sun Oct 08, 2023 8:13 pmAlternatively, he could have given more space, kept the lead and avoided an unnecessary collision. Hamilton admitted he was in the wrong so that's always a good thing to admit.

Interesting, could have sworn I replied last night...
Alternate option for Hamilton.
Also, similar issues were raised at the previous race in 2021, and Pirelli was reported to have warned 6 months ago that the current kerbs would be an issue which was ignored. Mixed with the return of track limits BS and a number of drivers being taken ill during/post race, all mounts up to a stunning success of a weekend.

I’m getting ready to board a flight back from Italy. I’ll make my mind up if you will be temporarily banned on the flight. So enjoy your time on the forum because it might be paused when I land around 17.30

I have just watched the highlights ( before I board a plane to Italy

Isn't that what we all want to see ? Maybe something F1 will think about in the future? It is the same for all teams and leads to predictable stops similar to the old refuelling strategies so teams can just concentrate on pure pace rather than put stop undercutting etc
