Re: Movement 6/10/23
Will keep a watch out.
Re: Movement 5/10/23
Airborne as RCH591. Worth noting this was the same frame at RIAT 2023, for the number crunchers among us.
Re: Movement 5/10/23
Apologies for the question but any ideas how many B1s are due?

Re: Movement 5/10/23
As many as they decide to send. Could be 1 could be 10. No one knows until they turn up
They laugh at me because I'm different, I laugh at them because they are all the same....
Re: Movement 5/10/23
I know this is most likely in the wrong place and I know nobody knows exactly what is going to happen, but would previous experience of deployments and the time of year suggest that most activity will likely take place in darkness or near darkness? I.e. take offs and landings?
Re: Movement 5/10/23
I did catch them last time they were here - had the U2 and then 2x B1's about 4pm/Harkins wrote: ↑Wed Oct 04, 2023 8:20 pmI know this is most likely in the wrong place and I know nobody knows exactly what is going to happen, but would previous experience of deployments and the time of year suggest that most activity will likely take place in darkness or near darkness? It would depend on what they are doing when they are here.

Re: Movement 5/10/23
Over the past few years when either B52's or B1s deploy for a month or so there are usually 4 aircraft is my experience, they then normally fly usually 1 sortie per day but not every day, using 2 aircraft per sortie. But of course this is purely my memories of the past few deployments.

Harkins, to get a feel for the likely sortie rate and times, last time 7BW were here in Oct was 2021. viewtopic.php?f=379&t=210613 or if you want to look further there is a record of the bomber deployments going back to 2009 here viewforum.php?f=379

Re: Movement 5/10/23
Briefly showed as active on ground on FR24 @ 8:05 6th Oct so perhaps getting ready for departure.
Re: Movement 5/10/23
Thanks for that. That’s as good a guide to how activity might pan out as possible.
