Re: Malta airshow 2023
We are delighted to confirm the participation of the Royal Netherlands Air Force AS532 Cougar helicopter in the static display. This marks the return of the Dutch Air Force to the airshow after their last appearance in 2010.
The Royal Netherlands Air Force (RNLAF) utilizes the AS532 Cougar, a versatile medium-lift helicopter manufactured nowadays by Airbus Helicopters. With its primary roles encompassing troop transport, combat search and rescue, medical evacuation, and special operations support, the Cougar serves as a crucial asset for the Dutch military. The RNLAF operates 12 AS532s under 300 Squadron based at Gilze-Rijen. Just recently, the RNLAF has procured 14 new H225M Caracal from Airbus Helicopters to replace the AS532 Cougar, so this is mostly likely the last appearance for the Cougar in Malta!
Stay tuned for further updates and announcements as we continue to unveil the exciting lineup for this year's airshow.

The Malta Airshow Team is delighted to announce that the esteemed Guardia di Finanza will be participating in the upcoming Malta International Airshow with their impressive P-72B maritime patrol aircraft.
The P-72B, a highly advanced maritime patrol aircraft, is a testament to the Guardia di Finanza's commitment to staying at the forefront of technological advancements. Equipped with cutting-edge surveillance systems and state-of-the-art avionics, the P-72B plays a pivotal role in safeguarding maritime borders, preventing smuggling activities, and conducting search and rescue missions. During the static display at the Malta International Airshow, attendees will have the opportunity to observe the P-72B closely and gain insights into its impressive capabilities.
We are honored to welcome the Guardia di Finanza back to the Malta International Airshow, as their participation underscores their commitment to maintaining maritime safety and security in the Mediterranean region. We eagerly anticipate your presence at the Malta International Airshow

Re: Malta airshow 2023
We are delighted to share some thrilling news for aviation enthusiasts and spectators alike, with the exciting confirmation of not one, but Three Royal Navy Avenger T.1 in static display!
The Avengers belong to the 750 Naval Air Squadron who back in 1959 were stationed at RNAS Hal Far, also known as HMS Falcon! Back then the squadron was part of the Fleet Air Arm’s Observer School, conducting Observer training with nine Percival Sea Prince T.1 flying classrooms. Its main task was providing basic training to officers before they moved on to specialist operational flying Units at various Naval Air Stations across the UK.
Nowadays, 750 NAS is based at RNAS Culdrose and still trains Observers, the specialists who navigate, operate communications systems and control the weaponry of the Navy’s Fleet Air Arm.
We are honoured to welcome back 750 NAS to our island, reminiscing memories of the squadron’s old ties with Malta!
Stay tuned for more updates and additional aircraft confirmations. For the latest news and announcements, visit our official website www.maltairshow.com and follow us on social media.

Re: Malta airshow 2023
I'm not sure how easy it will be to reach both static areas on one day - there are plenty of buses on Malta but they run victim to the airshow traffic. Sadly the old days of special airshow buses seem to be a thing of the past.
The main static area is on a new site - Safi Aviation Park. There are bus stops around but they look like there is a fair amount of walking from Kirkop (Valetta - Kirkop Route 71)
The Flying Display Aircraft Static Area is where the old static area was. There is a bus stop right outside the entrance but I'm not sure how easy it is to get on that bus or if they will even run that service during the show - the road is narrow and is usually clogged with cars! Maybe different this time with the other static display, but with the Red Arrows in town expect it to be popular. (Valetta - Zurrieq Route 74)
Re: Malta airshow 2023
Thanks for update , wont be able to walk the distances involved , once again thanks , goodbye the good old days of airshow trips, thanks again Rob
