French Army helicopters - Paris Air Show

Post by Spooky47 » Sat Sep 23, 2023 3:10 pm

Hi all
I have been trying to tie up the serial numbers for French Army helicopters seen at the Paris Air Show in 1969 & 1985 where I was only able to read codes due to their remote parking.
In searches I did some time ago I came up with some possibilities (as shown in brackets below) but it would be nice to get a confirmation on these.
I appreciate this is a bit of a ‘long-shot’ request but, who knows? If anyone can offer any thoughts on serial numbers for the below, I’d be grateful.
Le Bourget 7 June 69

Alouette II
AFT
CQC
CQF
CQM
CQO
CQP

Alouette III
AF (1265)
ABW
ACA (1590)
ACD (1328)
ACG (1271)
CVK
CVN
CVR

Le Bourget 6 June 85

Gazelle
AFC
AFH (1171)
AFI (1027)
AFJ (1153)
AFT
BTX
BTY
BXA (4175)
BXC
BXQ (3680)

Whilst on the subject, I also have one additional machine I need to tie up, which is -
AMO Gazelle seen at Le Luc de Cannet on 5 Nov 98.

Many thanks to anyone in a position to tie up any of these.

A good source of material for French Army aircraft/helicopters is

https://www.alat.fr/aeronefs-alat-helic ... rvice.html

Click through on a type to see a PDF of data.

I had a quick search of the SA 342M Gazelle listing re "BXA" - it finds two examples but neither is "4175"
