@f3 - I think that's the 510TFS, 81TFW.

The squadron with the purple fin band shown in these photos was the 510th TFS.

They still use a purple fin band today on their F-16s as part of the 31st FW at Aviano although it's now a more blueish shade of purple.

Are they known as The Buzzards? I recall seeing an F-16 with purple intake cover bearing that name @RIAT in '99.

Yes, they are known as The Buzzards, hence the stylised bird's head in the fin stripe on their A-10s.
