Terrible news.
This one has a picture showing the proximity of the road to the end of the runway.

It appears that the pilot may have landed amongst the wreckage. A report that he suffered burns, his condition not yet known.

65 years ago, when I was plane watching at R.A.F. Bovingdon, there were traffic lights to prevent accidents involving cars etc., whilst aircraft were taking off and landing. Move on 65 years, NO traffic lights, and accidents like these are still occurring!. My local electrician could fit those and an operating switch in the Control Tower, but no!. Powers in charge of things just hope it doesn't happen, but of course it does from time to time, with the eventual tragic result!. Angry about this today!!. Remember guys, overshoot and undershoot areas are for aircraft., not people. A great tragedy yesterday, would have been worse if it had been a crowded bus. Why is common sense not very common!!. I was guilty of standing in an undershoot area at St. Maarten in the Caribbean years go. Nearly had my head taken off by an Air France A.340. I ducked!. I never did it again, and suggest none of you do. Not speculation, but if you watched the video, you don't need a degree in the bleeding obvious to know what happened.
