Cobra Warrior Timetable

Post by Andy_99 » Thu Aug 31, 2023 3:22 pm

I've seen somewhere a timetable for the flying days for Cobra Warrior, has anybody got it to share on here ?
Hoping to pay Lakenheath/Mildenhall a visit.

If the time table is from RAF Coningsby spotters group - I don't think its correct any way.

The jets will probably fly twice a day, every day, except Monday for the LN and MH stuff.

Including Friday? If so, will it be an early finish like normal ops?

In March the Belgians still flew twice on Friday if my memory is correct.

End of next week will give us a clue. But anything can happen haha

Much obliged for the response. In March, on a Friday, we had Saudi's through LFA17 at 14:35L and Belgian's at 15:20L. Fingers crossed for a repeat with the Canadian's although no snow this time.

That's for the new Red 1 to practice in the over head.

From info I've received Tuesday is an exercise day with all elements up

Thanks. I’d be very grateful if you could keep this as up to date as possible as I am restricted to a single visit next week - be just my luck to come up on a rest day.🤔

Hornets, E550 and E3 all due up today, so appears the exercise is occurring every day - you should be fine.

Please folks, today is NOT an exercise day. As I have said before, there are eight exercise sorties, three this week, two next week, three the following week.
However, for all practical spotting/photography purposes, it will make no difference, as there will still be plenty of flying. There is little point deploying from Canada if you are not going to fly every day....
Exactly the same happens on every Cobra Warrior. Eight exercise missions, plus absolutely loads of flying on the other days.

To update everyone on this thread. There are no Planning Days during CW23-2, everyday is scheduled as an exercise day and so expect CW missions everyday throughout the exercise. I have this info directly from RAF Waddington. So not guesswork or a rumour.

You don't per chance also know why they have not trimmed that blasted hedge?

Probably because it’s an active military airfield and not a public amusement park? The only issue that hedge poses to those inside the fence is perhaps a bird risk, but it’ll likely be cut at some point in the winter season to keep that under control.

If the hedge is that much of an issue use a step ladder to see clear of it, it’ll likely be cut back by the time CW happens in March next year anyway.

How busy has the car park been today? Coming down tomorrow (with the worst weather forecast!).

Also are any laybys open at the Harmston end?
