Hi TheDelticFlyer

Welcome to Fighter Control... looks like your into a very special type of train as well.

FC is a great forum... hope you enjoy looking around.

A trip to Lakenheath is a must for you to get your F15 & F35 fix... not much more than an hours drive frim Coltishall ... wish I was an hour way from those two bases.

Enjoy FC👍

I went to Lakenheath couple weeks ago for my 1st time. It was amazing. 28 lifts after lunch. But due to do ears being sensitive i had to wear ear defenders. But still was loud lol had a brilliant time.

And yes my favourite is the class 55s :)

You used to have to make 5 posts, but I believe the number was increased to 15. I'll look for confirmation.

Also worth noting that the posts should be contributory not just along the lines of "nice pics mate"! as that is likely to cause issues with the admin/moderators.

Welcome aboard the friendly aviation forum

Spent a great deal of my youth at my beloved Coltishall watching proper Frightnings

PS: our outbound honeymoon train in 1975 was pulled by Alicydon, and the return was behind Tulyar; you have to love a Deltic :Wow:

The thread which said it had been increased to 15 has disappeared now, but I've noticed that the usernames of some new members change from black to blue now when they get to 10 posts. Being blue usually means that a member can access the Heads-up/OTT section - but obviously not in this case!

Light blue; dark blue are moderators.
I didn't know what the black ones were Mike- did actually PM an administrator some time ago re. the black ones and light grey 'handles', but didn't rx a reply.
Roger
Welcome aboard The Deltic Flyer. I wasn't into classic traction, but in my shed of choice would have been 10000/1 and 10203, saw them in the 1950s through Oxenholme on the Royal Scots.

Hi Roger, I was talking about the members that have blue usernames and not the Mods that have dark blue usernames.
I've never seen a member with a light grey username - I presume you mean the ones that are black?

It depends which Administrator you have PM'd, a couple of them haven't logged-on for a long time, much like some of the Mods.
