Broad clobbering his last ball for 6 is good stuff :thumb:

384 to win.

Broad hit his 55th six with his last ball in Test Cricket.
Now he's bowling to David Warner, probably told Jimmy and Mark that he wants his bunny one last time.

1220 Drinks break
Aus 49-0, little drama so far. Ball turning a bit but both Aussie openers seem settled.

1300 Lunch.
Aus 75-0, not reading the script. Stokes needs a chat with Wood I think.
Might not get any play afterwards as apparently now drizzling.
Forecast better for Monday.

Rain with Australia 135 without loss. Looking at the radar the rain could be here the rest of the day

Might not be a bad thing. Both openers set fair. Time for the bowlers to rest and regroup then knock them over tomorrow.

Today at the Test 1900 BBC, hopefully with the lack of play today they'll do a longer tribute to Stuart Broad.
His 8-15 against the Aussies at Trent Bridge are surely the highlight of his career.

The mighty Yuvraj Singh hitting 6 sixes in an over off Broad probably won't feature in the archives !

It really does, could have been looking at a historic 3-2, but even so that was some cracking cricket.

Superb effort by England

Driving down from Norwich I was so intent on the cricket I took the wrong turn for Mildenhall

Really intense

Good win. Well done in particular to Chris Woakes and Stuart Broad. The Aussies won’t be that upset at losing the 5th test. 2-2 but retain the ashes.

England could and should have won the series, disappointing that we declared and dropped catches in the first test, fell into the Aussie bouncer bash trap at Lords in the second. Why England didn’t use the same technique on the first day of the Lord’s test baffled me on that wicket.
England played very well at Headingley.
Manchester? 2-1 Did we bat too long? I don’t think so but the weather is fickle at Old Trafford and so it proved to be the deciding factor there. Not unusual and the move to compress the tests into such a short time was always likely to have some weather affected games. The Ashes series over before August even begins, wow!
Hope they do something to improve the over rate or gain some time back. 30 mins for lunch and 20 for tea? Start at 10.00?
