Does anyone know the current state of construction on the airfield? The article above, if I am not mistaken, relates only to the north eastern loop work.

I'm asking mainly in respect of what might be in the background of photos taken looking across from the FRIAT stand come July. Unfortunately, it was not all that pretty last July and I suspect it might not be much improved this year. I have a vague recollection of reading somewhere that the taxiway is still out for larger types and that red and white barriers are still there in abundance. Plus are the new hangars still not finished?

New Multi purpose hangar is completed externally with cladding up etc internals aren't due to be completed until later in the year. Munitions handling area on both sides of the runway are due to start later this year.

Does anyone know if the northern crash gate is accessible again?

I believe it is still being used as the construction site entrance so no it’s not accessible to the public.

The hangar openings look like the B2 hangars at whiteman air force base. Possible b21 raider deployments ?

B-21's due next week. But joking aside seemed to have the hangar doors on from what I could see from 09.

There is a power upgrade currently underway along Horcott Road (I live just off it) to the base. The "upgraded power" (whatever the means) is being take from the substation on Cirencester Road, along Cirencester Road, turning right onto Horcott Road and all the way to the base.

Not sure but might be relevant.
