Is a shame but there's quite a few C-27s so not terribly disappointed. Why these nations (Argentina too) confirm then cancel a week later...bizarre.

The Argentinian cancellation was out of RIAT's hands and was down to the invited country attempting to make a political point that was not well received by UKGov. I believe this has been discussed at length earlier in this thread.
It was only a political point because UKGov decided to make it one. It's some words on the front of an aircraft, it could have quite easily been ignored. If it was really a problem, give the crew a massive Argentine flag to hang from their cockpit on arrival.

I think the craziest one for me in cancellations has got to be the NATO E3. It has confirmed and cancelled on many occasions almost to the point where people no longer take it seriously.

As long as there is a pair of phantoms, tornadoes, B-52’s & the su-22 it looks half decent plus the harriers

So the Italians are sending 18 aircraft, no criticism, the Americans are sending exactly the same number and they are singled out for criticism........just no pleasing some obviously

It looks much more appealing than the absolute rubbish that was RIAT 2022

Because unless the USAF send the A-10, F-22A, F-35A display teams, their participation is criticized - Not like they do that regularly anyway!

There's even a B-52 on static AND flying...

Nearly forgot all the F-35’s due that is a highlight for me, last year was dire. I think we have a decent line up well done RIAT can’t wait for next week. Waterproofs ready 🤣

And it's really not that thin.
8 aircraft is thin.
Slightly more than eight (12 + a buddy-buddy Tornado), plus re-enactment support from older types, yes perhaps not the greatest theme selected in current circumstances but don't let your dislike of the event get in the way.

Agreed. Think it will be great to see a good variety of aircraft in formation that you'd never get anywhere (Lancaster & Meteor for starters).

Daz, I get what you're saying, but it hasn't got worse every year.

2023 - 18 US Aircraft
2022 - 11 US Aircraft
2019 - 10 US Aircraft
2018 - 14 US Aircraft
2017 - 23 US Aircraft (70th Anniversary)

(Doesn't include the B-2, ripped off RIAT site)

Also, it was covered on here a lot that this year, that the USAF's policy with shows abroad had take a big change. Not having a go mate, but can't say it's got worse when it's got better.

Good point, James. My error. Cos I'm a human being and we make mistakes. That's acceptable. What's not acceptable is people having a go everytime someone does.

Speculation on UKAR, based on a deleted tweet, is that something has cancelled at the 11th hour.
Suggestions (guesses) at this point are the -52s, the Fiat, the Zambian C-27 or the ice cream van in green zone.
Time will tell.

Ps For anybody staying over could I suggest that you double check accommodation. I did yesterday, no record of booking due to change of owner, that pub fully booked. My new accommodation is 40 miles away not 10 and £120 more for the three nights.

Until you hear it from an official source such as RIAT Air Ops on UKAR or an official RIAT social media account/website update or from the operator, treat everything as not true.

We always get this speculation the week before the show that 'star' items have cancelled.
