Did they buy that in home bargains and sellotape it to the tail? 🙄😳

The fleet remains available for operations and so this has to be easily removable in case it has to deploy at short notice.

Not sure about that, over the decades the ability of the RAF to do specials has been lame just look at the 100 years. The RAF would not fund the Puma for the 2018 Tiger Meet and had to get the Army to green light it. And when they have done specials namely the Chinooks they seem to hide on most airshows.

Fighterfoto will be spot on, with only a handful of C-130Js left there aren't many to choose from if an operation like Sudan pops up.

It might have looked a lot better if they had done the whole tail... very poor effort in celebrating such an outstanding service by the C130.

What ever the reason... the service of the RAF C130 deserves more than just a sticker :S .. just my opinion

Aren't they being withdrawn from service next week?

Pretty sure a full vinyl tail graphic wouldn’t take that much longer to peel off as that p*** poor effort would. Obviously the top brass want the retirement to pass without much fanfare and notice, probably embarrassed that we have no suitable replacement for it.

In that case why bother with a crappy sticker at all, who is it for? Honestly this is embarrassing compared to what Belgium or France would do and if the aircraft is still so crucial for ops with a few days left in service it just proves what a stupid decision it was to retire them!

Yes, Commander Air Wing Brize Norton on the Threshold shoot mentioned it - they are aiming for a 6 and half hour tour of the UK covering the important and sentimental locations of the Herc with three of them carrying out the tour - it was mentioned at the time that they were just putting together a route map to be published and that was imminent but nothing seems to have come out yet - but think he mentioned the 14th was the date it would be happening.

Pathetic! Bear in mind though that anything too elaborate may upset someone, somewhere in this Wokedom?
Rubbish, and that isn't what "woke" means. Only reason we're bad at special schemes is unlike Germany, France, Belgium etc. we farm out our maintenance to private companies who try to do as little as possible for the most money, i.e. Serco. Anyone with a passion for this now doesn't have the authority to make it happen.
