Sorry to have to say this (I know I'll be controversial in some quarters) but this is one reason why both Leuchars and Lossiemouth should both be kept open as RAF Bases.

Just wondering why this post is relevant to topic? Working at a Dundee airport, i see no reason why they couldnt divert to an airport that met their requirements. Its not as if its never happened in the past with Edinburgh as the Leuchars alternate, Inverness has been used by Lossie in the past and Doncaster took in GR4s recently from Marham.

Oh! And where did the F-16s go at the weekend? Now there is an interesting situation if the EPU had been operated!!!

Sorry for spoiling you thread Gaz! Keep up the good work!!!
Arabest,
Geoff.
Ps, Before anyone says it, Dundee used to be named as alternate for Danish F-16 visits to Leuchars!!!With 1400m that would be interesting!!! :pop:

You don't happen to know which Channel News the TV Crew were from? Just seen the BBC 1 Scotland people leaving from Elgin for Wasteminster. One other thing on a related item is there any sign of the campaign to keep Leuchars open as the BBC and other TV Channels seem to be concentrating on The Moray Bases. I realise the significance of Moray but I would love to know what's going on closer to us. Why have everyone taken sides against Leuchars all of a sudden?
