Blimey, that's awful! I hope her and others are able to keep safe and well.
so do I James, they are well above the river so they should be okay. There's plenty of capacity left at present, the snow melts off the mountains cause the river to rise a lot in the winter time and the river copes with that okay.
She just sent me some videos from Imola from this morning, one is from the bridge that crosses the river from the city to the pit area and the river there is very high but well below the bridge level, the pit area should be be safe apart from the rain that's falling still, it's pissistent at present.

Right decision for a change. Plus it does me a favour as had other duties which clashed with the race! Unfortunately that means it's Monaco next..

Big week-end for us. Anticipating loads of Safety Cars, Red Flags through the sessions. F.3 cars throwing themselves at the scenery no doubt, and I expect[as usual] a thoroughly processional race on Sunday, to be followed by Indianapolis 500!.

Not one comment on Monaco, strange but understandable, it's all getting very boring :(
If you can keep your head whilst all around are losing theirs, you have probably completely misread the situation!!

Bit hard trying to get buses like that round such a tiny circuit for it to be entertaining...

Indeed, apart from the few laps when the rain started, it was even boring for the wet conclusion.

Odd not to hear boy wonder not moaning about something or other though. Maybe they just selected to keep his radio traffic off.
Plus is it me or is Russell becoming more unlikeable..

As suggested, not too much to comment on!!, The rain livened it up [and boy, did it need livening up!!] Indy 500 on the other hand!!. How lucky that the errant wheel somehow missed the Grandstand. !! Very Very scary!. I was fearing the worst!.

Ever since he swiped at Bottas after crashing into him at Imola he's become incredibly unlikeable.

Couldn't agree more, I gave him the benefit to start with but I don't think he's a nice fella to be honest.

Never been a Russell fan - bit of a whinger although he does take responsibility for his mistakes

I am a self confessed max fan ( someone has to be!) So I enjoyed the highlights.

Hamilton is 33/1 to win in Barcelona and I think that could be good value as he appears to be in a better mental space and looked much more racier recently and the Silver Arrows upgrades could give him a real boost.

My prediction for Barcelona
1) Sir Lewis Hamilton
2) Max V
3) Perez

And each way with Hamilton for place at quarter the odds is definitely worth a punt

Anyone who bets against a reb dull win this weekend is a fool. Under normal circumstances of course.

Personally, I don't see how adding surface area to an already draggy car is going to make it faster. But still, they must know better than me. They've never got strategies wrong

"still, they must know better than me"

Really!

Nice program about road racer Ian Hutchinson on ITV 4 aligned with the start of the IOM TT. Ok it's a time trial but 200mph on a road!

Sorry for the late comments, I've been busy moaning about sports I don't like on other forums. I quite enjoyed the weekend, had a week off so managed to do F3, F2, F1 and Indy. Was nice to have a bit of rain to spice things up, it didn't seem the right choice at the time but if Alonso had gone with inters at that first stop and the track getting so bad I wonder if he'd have managed to get ahead of Max. Edge of your seat stuff with cars sliding everywhere for a while was fun. Alonso 2nd, Ocon on the podium, Mercs 4th/5th isn't bad when you consider they are really the 4th best team. Otmar probably gets to keep his job a bit longer too now. Monaco is the worst track to try out upgrades, Barcelona the best so be interesting to see how they've done, plus now they've all seen the Red Bull floor.
Indy car was hard going right until the end, that wheel flying through the air was so dangerous, few feet to the right and we'd be having a different conversation right now. Felt for Marcus, so nearly two in a row but with that drafting you're kind of a sitting duck, if they hadn't chosen to restart on the back straight instead of the main straight he would be, all about timing I guess.

I like the look of the McLaren number 2 driver oscar piastri sounds like pastry at least as a youngster he can already keep up with posh boy Norris , it helps to have a rich dad which makes Hamilton's achievements even more worthy

Nice though to be born with a silver spoon in your mouth

Hamilton's early life and subsequent success is the ultimate rags to riches story largely as a result of hard work from him and his family

Slogen, agree totally with your last post. Ron Dennis was very impressed with him when they met. I think Lewis was 10 at the time??

Lewis is a fabulous example and well deserved success, but I think the the likes of Lando still have the talent, many a driver has brought money to the teams, some with more success than others.
