ZZ417 on it's way back from Bournemouth at this time, ZZ419 acted as crew ferry this morning - the final Red to leave Scampton arrived as Vulcan 81 on the 19th October.

Unsure which is was, there's also been a few Hawks back and forth, think it will be hard to keep up where each one is.

Hi All,
Can anyone tell me if the E3D's remaining at Waddo have been scrapped yet or are still in situ?

Also not seen any thing about ZZ666 coming back, 18 months is a long time away especially given the increased usage of the 664 and 665.

any help appreciated.

Last I heard, 666 was due back early this year.

The E3Ds left on base have not been scrapped yet, all are parked east of the runway and easily visible from the A15.

ZH105 is just a fueslage, the other 3 are missing radomes and probably some engines.

The RCs are visible from various points along the A15, not sure if they are able to be read off from that distance - I've never needed to.

ZZ418 has just returned from Hawarden and is now in the white exec scheme.

Need to compare photos but should be R2 spec.

EDIT - not confirmed this is R2 spec yet, apologies.

Hi All,
Am i right in thinking we are down to 1 x RC135's ZZ664.
Seems very strange to be left with the oldest airframe left active, and surely the next in line for upgrade.
Is 665 broken or in the midst of urgent repair to warrant a return to the US.
And any idea if 666 is going to come back!

many thanks in advance,

664 was the first to have the glass cockpit upgrade. 665 the 2nd, 666 this third.
666 was originally planned to return March/April time I believe.

Unsure why 665 went to the US, it returned from its glass cockpit upgrade end of 21/start of 22 if I remember correctly?

Haven't seen it reported elsewhere on the site, but RC-135 ZZ666 had its first post-maintenance test flight in the States on 22.5.23

It was reported on 'UK Heads Up, Movements & OTT' but was either removed or moved to somewhere else - I cannot find it. ZZ666 flew as SHINR40 out of Greenville, Texas, circling to the northeast of Dallas on 22 May.

AFM has published a news item this month and have miss interpreted what I've said - ZZ418 is still an R1+ (Tom confirms it as an R1+(mod)) and was an R1+ before the minor upgrade and was the last remaining grey example.
