Benson 20.04.23

Post by JLewis_Aviation » Fri Apr 21, 2023 1:29 pm

An enjoyable and windy visit to the local yesterday, the main attraction was the 2 Typhoons but I think I enjoyed the Chinook on the sloping ground even more! Gutted I couldn't make it for the morning launch but glad I got them recovering

Great set of images Joe. I drove past Benson for the first time last Summer, along the A474 heading to Oxford. Fascinated, I Google mapped the airfield sometime later. There are plenty of vantage points around the place most notable is the hairpin bend in the estate to the North that seems to offer a panoramic view of the ramp - is this where you took your pics from? I'll make a point of stopping if I'm ever in the vicinity again.😊
Everyone has a photographic memory; some just don't have film.

I would think you’d need to have a word with the local farmer to get (excellent) shots like this, there are cul-de-sac footpaths but they don’t reach as far as the airfield boundary hedgerow.
