I notice that the RSAF Typhoons currently at Coningsby only have Arabic Numerals on them.
Is this just for the Cobra Warrior Exercise, or have the Eastern Arabic Numerals been removed more generally? I saw that some support C-130s still have both.

Re: RSAF Typhoons Arabic Numerals
I think Eastern Arabic numbers are being removed more generally across the fleet.
Some C-130s no longer have them, for example.

Arabic numerals ? The six I saw today did NOT have Arabic numerals on them, so the statement that they ONLY had Arabic numerals is slightly misleading don't you think ?
Re: RSAF Typhoons Arabic Numerals
Bahamas45596, Tommc is quite correct. The symbols we know as 0 to 9 are known as Arabic numerals, so called as they were introduced to Europeans by Arabic merchants many centuries ago and the origins go even further back to Hindu mathematicians I think. What you may consider to be Arabic numerals I believe are most commonly referred to as Arabic Indic or eastern arabic symbols. Saudi Air Force aircraft used to carry serials using both numeric systems. I’m no expert, but loads of info on the internet if you want or need to know more. As they say, every days a school day.
Re: RSAF Typhoons Arabic Numerals
Arabs were using the Eastern Arabic numerals or "Mashriki" numerals: ٠ ١ ٢ ٣ ٤ ٥ ٦ ٧ ٨ ٩
The . above is zero not a dot or full stop grammaticallyNought:whistle:
Edited to correct the error caused by poor memory

Edited my post for clarity, even though I'm fairly sure people understood it
