RIAT have also confirmed the attendance of 9 Aircraft so fingers crossed for business as usual this year.

Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2023 General Discussion Thread
I think 8 is more likely. The Red 9 callsign has not been heard at all yet. Slow progress from the reds this winter.
Unless they are counting 8 display jets and Red 10?

I've noticed a few shows saying that they're back to a nine ship but as you say no one has heard from red 9 yet this year. Seems weird to have an 8 ship though.
Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2023 General Discussion Thread
Flightline UK says Reds listed as 9 ship? (Cosford also)

New "toilet break" act

Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2023 General Discussion Thread
There has been too much celebrity-isation (?) of the individual pilots in recent years for my taste. As a good friend once described them, flash ba….ds.
Perhaps I just watch the aircraft and ignore the individual pilots and associated media brouhaha. The aircraft remain more or less constant over the years, almost any current front-line pilot could do the job.
Keep it in your shorts, boys

Couldn't agree any more there, walking around like they're better than the rest.
I personally don't find myself enjoying their display as much any more. Much prefer the Frecce Tricolori, Patrouille Suisse just to name a couple. Just find their displays less predictable, and better on the eye.

surely exercise spring hawk won't be happening this year in light of recent events.?
surely the British tax payer won't be funding another overseas Pi** up?
I think if all our other display teams can manage to practice in the unpredictable British weather, then the reds can too.

I made te point elsewhere, but if Springhawk goes ahead, the Reds would still be over-seas for the Kings coronation flypast (IF there is one, nothing announced)Discodaz wrote: ↑Tue Feb 28, 2023 12:19 pmsurely exercise spring hawk won't be happening this year in light of recent events.?

Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2023 General Discussion Thread
First up this week; the Slovak Air Force have confirmed they will send a LET 410 light transport aircraft to join the static displays, the first time we've seen this aircraft type from Slovakia in over a decade. We look forward to welcoming them to RAF Fairford in July!
We're please to be welcoming His Majesty's Coastguard to the static displays at RIAT 2023. This week we can confirm the presence of Bristow Helicopters their AW189 & S-92. We are also in discussions with 2Excel Aviation regarding their fixed wing patrol aircraft which should also be in attendance for the show, but are not able to confirm until closer to the event.
Last week at the European Airshow Council Convention, our team met with representatives from various Air Arms and dicussed aircraft participation at RIAT 2023. We hope these promising conversations will be followed by with formal confirmations in the coming months!
We are aware of the publication of the Rafale Solo Display's display calendar online, which includes their intent to participate at RIAT 2023. However we await formal confirmation from our friends in France.

Alway nice to have a L-410 in the static park. The HMCG section in the static park was interesting to walk around last year. It’ll be good to have it back again.
Good news about the Aussie being ongoing too. Can dream about a front liner but any of their heavies will be welcome

For the Aussie - I'm thinking the KC30A tanker. One was in Boscombe couple of weeks back.
Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2023 General Discussion Thread
Netherlands, France, Belgium and Jordan Air Forces also ongoing
