Wishing Jennie Gow a full recovery

The BBC sports broadcaster Jennie Gow has said she is recovering from a serious stroke

I don't have Sky so most of my live F1 coverage is from BBC 5 Live of which Jennie is an integral part of the F1 team. It will be a long road but I hope to hear her cheerful and upbeat voice on the radio again.
Yes very sad news, here's hoping Jennie makes a speedy and full recovery.
If you can keep your head whilst all around are losing theirs, you have probably completely misread the situation!!

Well that's all the '23 cars revealed, liveries anyway.
If the Championship was decided on looks then I think it would finish as follows:

1 - Williams
2 - McLaren
3 - Alpha Tauri
4 - Alpine (for having two)
5 - Alpha Romeo
6 - Mercedes
7 - Haas

The following teams would all be disqualified for lack of originality:

Red Bull
Ferrari
Aston Martin
UBC-15X, 800XLT, 3500XLT, VT-225, Airspy R2/Mini/SDR#, RSP1A/SDR Uno

That's a bold call putting Williams so high! :O McLaren is a copy paste job from last year, I mean it's the exact same

Ferrari should be exempt, they're expected to be red...Red Bull though, miss when they had testing liveries.

C'mon, that Williams looks good, I like the McLaren so much that I left it in :)
Yes those Red Bull test liveries were good, I was always sad they didn't stick with them for the season. Guess they wouldn't be test liveries then !

Oooh...But I do just love how good the Ferrari looks! :)

That's a valid point, let's hope for a good season.

First F1 charters taking cars to Bahrain for pre season testing have operated out of East Midlands today. Atlas N487MC for one.

Roll on Thursday morning. Live testing at Bahrain on Sky F.1 Channel.  Must look out for Atlas N863GT. It's the last 747 built and will enter service in the next week or two.

So before testing starts, not that it usually tells us much other than who's totally useless, what are everyone's thoughts for the upcoming season?
Personally I hope that Merc have sorted things out and it's an 8th for Lewis, I'm worried though that with George being so good they could damage each others chances of the drivers title. Lots of noise from RB that the penalties have hurt them, I think it's just noise and it will be Max's year again.
I hope the midfield get to the point of challenging for at least a few races, especially McLaren and Aston. Be great to see a much more competitive Williams and Lando take a win too.

I agree with all your thoughts. Testing will be interesting, though I suspect there will be a fair amount of 'sandbagging' going on, together with copious quantities of BS in the air. But a great feeling to be back after the long wait!!. Hope it's a good safe season, and that Lewis wins.

Alternative viewing to F1 for those with an interest in other forms of four wheeled motorsport.

IMSA - free via their world feed App and Radio Le Mans
WEC - 'free' on Discovery+
ELMS - free on Youtube
Asian LMS - free on Youtube
Bathurst 12hrs - free on YT
Silverstone Classic - free on YT
Plus numerous GT Racing series - free on YT

SkyF1? - rip off.

I'd still like to listen to a competitive F1 season though ;)

Having been a Sky subscriber for many years, I disagree that Sky F.1 is a rip-off. I opted out of all sports channels other than the F.1 Channel. but still have Eurosport 1 and 2 as part of the normal package. I get every F.1 practice session, live, qualifying, all F.2 the same, all F. 3 the same, Porsche Supercup races, World Superbikes, every practice and races live, all the talking heads, live Sports Car races, Indycar Racing live.... the list is long.! Off the top of my head, I think I am paying about £10 per week. Equivalent to 3 pints of beer a week, but then, I don't drink. Rip- off. I think not. Couldn't do without it!!.

I don't think Sky is a rip off either, their coverage is absolutely top drawer and I'm happy to pay. There seems to be a number of contributors on the f1 thread who don't seem to actually like F1 which I find a little odd. Trouble with those other series you mention is they are boring, oddly you've not mentioned BTCC or WRC which are very exciting and I'm pretty sure are available on terrestrial tele, not that I watch them, not enough hours in the week :)

Right I'm off to make comments on the Fantasy League thread because that's a sport I'm not interested in.

Yes, BTCC is on on terrestrial. Being retired, I do have time to watch it, and have done for some time. I remember watching a guy called Lando Norris racing in Ginetta Juniors. Interesting to follow drivers progress from lower formulae. Thank goodness skiing finishes in a week or two [also on Sky], then I can get my Senior Management away from the television into the kitchen so that I can watch my racing!!. 2eiVAR, Am I right in thinking that, like us, you went to Thunder City in South Africa at one time??. Regards, John.

Just seen Now TV are doing a Sky Sports pass for £21 a month. Cancel anytime.
Well worth it in my opinion, I prefer the Sky coverage.

£8.22 per race weekend. That's an absolute bargain given the quality and expanse of Sky's coverage.

So. AM & Alonso look incredibly quick. But, as we learnt last year, Ferrari snatched pole rather unexpectedly. Are Ferrari/Red Bull sandbagging a little, or are AM genuine contenders? Guess we'll see this afternoon and tomorrow.
