Great photos, particularly like the first image.

Did they depart Pippingford, or are they temporarily based on exercise?

Thanks, that one snuck up on me!

Having arrived as a four ship, they departed as a pair and two single ships and didn't show signs of returning. There didn't appear to be much ground support, unlike when the Merlins were there a few months ago, but the one truck was still there when I left, which was 90 minutes after the Chinooks left.

Do you happen to recall if the pair were ZH892 & ZH902?

ZD984 and ZK559 departed as a pair, followed by ZH892 which showed up on ADSB as KERMIT 2 and looked to have gone to the Chelmsford area and then through the London heli lanes. Finally ZH902 departed to the north east, having hung around on the ground for a while.

A great set here. The Chinooks were due at Pippingford on the 18th for 5 days but were cancelled due to weather. A total of 5 were confirmed but were changed to a flight of 4. Annoyed I missed these as Pippingford is 5mins up the road. Kermit flight came over very low on Monday 28th so assumed it was a flight from Odiham that we usually get over the forest.

They didn't stay long. There were another three on Wednesday, around the same time as Monday's ones.
