Exercise JW-22

Post by tonkatom » Wed Sep 21, 2022 5:10 pm

Good evening all!
Am planing on travelling up to Lossiemouth from the 1st-7th October for an aircraft holiday and am aware that Joint warrior is taking place.
I am also aware that it is a land/sea exercise and have seen up to 50 aircraft will be participating but am struggling to find any concrete confirmation of any air forces that may be over to the UK for it?
Thanks,
Tom.
May the skies be clear and blue and the wind fair with a guiding star to steer by.

This indicates the exercise is going ahead.

No fighters by the look of this I found on gov.uk https://www.gov.uk/government/publicati ... nt-warrior

Seems to be nothing ship wise heading to Faslane/Glasgow too.

Have read elsewhere that there are nato ships on the west coast of Scotland for the exercise and also NATS have released information with regards to fast jets participating in the exercise, but I would imagine they are all Uk based assets.

I have also read that warships are anchoring off the Clyde in prep for Exercise JW-22

Some more info here https://www.pressandjournal.co.uk/fp/ne ... -scotland/

The only ships showing on Marine Traffic are:

BNS Bellis in Glasgow
ORP Kosciuszko in Glasgow
HMS Northumberland in Faslane
HDMS Vaedderen off Isle of Islay
KNM Maud anchored off Falmouth
HDMS Esbern Snare in Falmouth (but not showing now)

With JW having 3 phrases, I assume some will not turn up till their relevant part in the exercise.
